i see a lot of people saying “i like makoto but not his siscon behavior” which is very cool i love to see more mugamins in the world. however.

i LIKE that he’s a creepy freak with a gross obsession with his sister i LIKE that he’s a performer who only lets his true self shine with a select few people i LIKE the inherent tragedy of the makoto and kokomi sibling relationship and how makoto genuinely may have fucked up the only relationship he canonically allows himself to care about by being too much, by not knowing where to draw the line. he is passionate and insane but he is constantly repressing himself in order to BE mugami toru. everybody loves mugami, everybody likes mugami, but who cares about makoto? who likes him for him? has he ever even had somebody he could be open with outside of kokomi? is he ever being honest, even with himself?

tldr he is my fucked-up special little guy and i think we should all get a little more comfortable admitting that sometimes problematic characters are COMPELLING and INTERESTING in spite of and often because of their immoral behaviors/beliefs
