“How long have you been sitting here?” //from yuta!
To say he’d been startled wouldn’t have been far from the truth. The initial surprise was shifting, giving way to something far more acrid, a deep-seated and twisting realisation that even an individual with such an immense volume of cursed energy- even Yuuta, had managed to slip his notice.
His return to the world had been somewhat akin to being thrown in the deep end of an arctic sea. He’d emerged with his cursed energy essentially hamstrung, in flux, and strewn far beyond the fine control and mastery he’d once flaunted with pride. Though Shoko had reassured him that his faculties would return slowly, the revelation had been nothing if not crushing.
The disorientation of his Six-Eyes had hit him especially hard.
At the very least, he’d been stripped of his responsibilities for now. No jobs, no exorcisms, no meetings, no classes. All in exchange for endless debate (which he was pointedly excluded from) over his involvement in Shibuya and his ensuing fate- an execution, a return to duty, incarceration. Whatever the case, they’d yet to reach a concrete decision.
Which left him to linger as a shadow of himself, a phantom haunting the campus grounds. His old room had been returned to him, and with that, all the probable freedoms which he’d once enjoyed. But the silent implication that he was not to leave hung heavy in the air. Though, that wasn’t to say that he particularly wanted to.
“Yuuta.” Satoru greeted, forcing joviality into his tone. He knew that it was more than likely that the elders had assigned his pupil to watch him. Heh. What irony.
“Don’t tell me you came back just for me!”
