It’s possible my ancestors are upset at me...
‘cause every time I move forward it seems like something bad happens.
But I don’t know my ancestor’s names being adopted. Am I screwed?

If shamanism is a term that originated from Siberian traditions, why is Korean Shamanism a tag that you all use?
Personally speaking, I believe we tend to use that tag because I’m the one putting the tag, due to the relativity of Korean Shamanism being very likely birthed from Siberian Shamanism. But also because anthropologists tend to call my tradition that, rather than its other Korean-based names (Mugyo, Musok).

Hi guys! Any resources on korean shamanism? I recently watched a movie and I was curious to see if it was bullshit or not. Looking for scientific articles and the like. Thanks for all the amazing work!
Hi, korean shaman here (spirit led, will be traditionally trained after this summer). Personally I find your wording to be offensive. What part of my life is “bullshit” to you? We undergo spirit sickness, it makes living our lives tortuous, our mental/physical/emotional health torn to shreds and it doesn’t even stop there. What makes our rituals and our tradition any more bullshit than other traditions/religions out there, exactly?
That said, there are scientific articles and books - anthropology in genre, mainly by Laurel Kendall in the US. And not once has she ever worded her research in such a condescending manner.
