  Allah, The Most Exalted says:

"Say: O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful". (Qur’an:39:53)

The Noble Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is reported to have said:

"When Allah created the creatures, He wrote in the Book, which is with Him over His Throne: 'Verily, My Mercy prevailed over My Wrath" (Hadith: Muslim)
