🍃 LEAVES FLUTTERING IN WIND — what is/was your oc’s favorite subject in school?

bugs 101. bariyan loved bugs 101. well arthopods 101

in arthopods 101 they teach you that you get bitten in the face when your vibes are bad and its your fault and also god doesnt love you

bariyan grew up in a niche sect where he was mostly educated by his eldest brother khista, and didn't have any formal education at the main temples. but khista did put him through a rigorous set of the sects' own lessons and from that array of subjects bariyan's favorite was the study of their sacred beasts, their religious significance, how to raise and care for them, their ritual uses, etc

he was most fond of the centipede, revered as a divine messenger/protector, and acted as the sect's primary centipede-keeper (centikeeper. keeper of the pedes) until he left. his lifelong pet project is/was breeding them for better sociability between themselves & with humans, a wildly unsuccessful endeavor that he nevertheless persists in

besides general reverence and fascination, bariyan also enjoyed these lessons b/c they were the only ones in which he passed muster in his brother's eyes. all his best memories of khista are of khista begrudgingly approving of bariyan's care & knowledge for their weird lil venomous monsters
