Sending so much happiness to you for your birthday. There's really nothing I could give to return the amount of happiness your writings give to me, but (as Plautus said), "Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words." I've tagged you in a couple of posts on my blog. :)
Thank you, love! *all the hugs* It’ll be a very academic birthday, but probably a fun one. I’m going to a friend’s Doctor Who panel before my own roundtable, today. :-)
*off to reblog things and thank you lots and lots*
Hmm…here, slightly earlier, Erik arriving to see Charles…
The rooms felt like Charles. Erik took note of that somewhere in the back of his head. Even at the first step into the antechamber, the space said home to all his senses. The leaping crackle of fire. The scents of leatherbound books and steeping tea. The glint of light from a microscope on a table littered with notes. Chairs plainly made for curling up into. And the worried encouraging patter of rain on the windows.
None of it mattered. Not now. Not if Charles could never read one of those books or peer into that microscope, ever again.
