Judging from the trailer, it’s like... the movie seems fine, it could be really cool and all, the trailer was good, but it’s too soon to tell...it’s just...it doesn’t feel like Disney’s Mulan, you know? It seems it’s a different telling of the tale. Which is valid but, since we were taking the animated classics to screen, it’s upsetting because this is not the case. Like sure, make changes, but...this feels like a completely new take on the story with some nods to the animated movie - yes I realize this is just the first teaser so they wouldn’t present everything, I’m just saying what I feel right now about the material we have.

I hope I can get my head around all that until then and enjoy the movie for what it is (I do hope it’s good as its own thing), but it still upsets me.
