Hi I am also a pokemon fan
you may know that Ghetsis' name is derived from "G" and "Cis" (lol), which are note names—"Cis" is C-sharp in German nomenclature, making Ghetsis a funky lil tritone. (btw the whole diabolus in musica thing is super overblown—medieval theologians were not losing their shit over a fairly common dissonant interval. but it's a great name nonetheless)
but G-Cis is only one of many tritones you can spell out in the German notation system! i started listing them out and realized this post was going to get very long. instead, i have devised the following handy guide:
Make Your Own Ghetsis In Just Three Easy Steps
Select one note name from a pair below.
Select a note name from the same tritone pair, but on the other side of the em-dash.
Combine them in any order! Get creative with phonetic spelling, if you so choose.
For example:
I choose "Fis" from Tritone Pair 1.
I pair it with "C" from the other half of Tritone Pair 1.
I combine them to form "Cefis."
Tritone Pair 1 || Bis / C — Fis / Ges
Tritone Pair 2 || Cis / Des — G
Tritone Pair 3 || D — Gis / As
Tritone Pair 4 || Dis / Es — A
Tritone Pair 5 || E / Fes — Ais / B* / Bes
Tritone Pair 6 || Eis / F — H* / B / Ces
* if you're wondering why these are here: german uses B for B-flat and H for B-natural.
Voilà: your very own homemade Ghetsis. do with this information what you will
