Unsynchronized Watches

Inspired by this little Pokémon Masters comic.

It is odd, having two universes pressed up against eachother. There are many small things that might go wrong if Ingo and Emmet don't consider them, if they don't keep things running smoothly.

And then there is also the matter of the other world itself, and its other Ingo who is without a twin, and even within his world from a time and place so different he could not recognize a pokécenter. It had made the twins very grateful to have eachother as they parted ways and left him seeking a way back to his place within the other world.

It is much to think about, but that does not mean the twins are unobservant. However, their next interaction still spots them before they spot him.

"Ingo?" There is another Emmet standing before them, staring at Ingo with a sort of terrified hope.

Ingo takes a step forward. "I am Ingo," and Emmet does the same. "And I am Emmet. We are the Subway Bosses." "Is there anything we can assist with?" Ingo asks, as he watches the other Emmet's face fall across their interaction.

The other Emmet takes a breath, and seems to be barely holding it together. "I am Emmet. Ingo is missing. He has been for a verrrrry long time now. He was taken, we think. We do not know what happened to him."

The brothers share a look, and it's easy to tell they've just had the same, horrible thought. There was an Ingo without an Emmet, who didn’t who he was, and who they had assumed didn't have one. And now here is an Emmet who's Ingo was missing.
