The Borderlands was hard enough. It was worse when you were also trying to deal with learning to be a vampire. How had it happened? It was all blurry to Niragi. After a game, he'd been heading back to the Beach when he'd gotten attacked. The fact someone was able to sneak up on the trigger-happy militant said a lot about who, or rather, what it was. He hadn't heard anything, and then all he felt was pain. That was the last thing he remembered before he woke up in a hotel room - one different to the Beach.
A female, rather attractive if he was honest, told him what had happened. That he'd been attacked by a vampire and had been turned. At first, Niragi laughed it off, assuming the woman to be insane. But when he was exposed to the smell and sight of blood for the first time after the attack, he understood she wasn't lying. Niragi craved blood more than he used to. He didn't just want to spill it and paint the walls with it but drink it.
It hadn't taken Niragi long to realize this woman wasn't some innocent bystander who knew far too much about the supernatural world, but the person who had stuck their fangs in him to begin with. Now, she was teaching him the ways of how to handle this new life. Why he was turned, he didn't know. And she wouldn't tell him.
A few days had passed, and he was finally getting a better grasp on things. He quickly learned how not to jump at the sight or smell of blood, and was able to function like a halfway normal person. Normal for Niragi, anyway.
He made his way into the Beach. He assumed everyone thought he was dead, given how long he'd been gone for. But here he was: alive. Sort of. Niragi glanced around, looking for any familiar faces. Wondering if any unfamiliar ones would be bold enough to try and approach the pale man.
