Physical appearance

Scrawny malnourished short boy, scar across left eye (blind), curly black hair that already greying despite being like 18(get him help)

He's a dickhead.

His dragon is called pumpkin spice latte but he calls her spice

He is in house Tigris!(Not that it affects his story much lol)

Romance? Heck yeah! He's never been in a relationship before, it hasn't been his main priority. ("I'm gonna die young, what's the point of going out with someone you'll never marry?")

Macklin is a stealth trans boy who uses he/him pronouns.

Okay awesome backstory time Macklin grew up alongside his twin sister Charlie in a small fishing town, their parents worked all day leaving the twins alone. They used to play imagination games in the woods nearby.

Charlie died of smoke inhalation after their house caught fire. #macklinhassurvivorsguilt.

Macklin tried to lift a flaming beam out of the doorway to get her out but someone pulled him off. Because of this he has some NASTY burn scars on the palm of each hand that he keeps covered with fingerless gloves

A few years later macklins town fell to the corruption. He lived rough for a long time before he got to the academy. Rested his head for a while and woke up in the elevator.

His magic is based mostly around sparks and smoke, embers and ash, that sort of thing.(Yeah, he's not happy about it)

His nickname back home was smoky cause he always burnt food. And Charlie's was spice because she had a little spice stall on the dock.

Absolutely no reason as to why he shortens his dragons name to spice, nope!

Azerik had been practicing with his shortsword against a random tree in the forest. Discord was curled up nearby in a sun spot. Suddenly the dragon perked up before taking off into the forest. "Wha-! Discord!" Azerik sheaths his sword and runs after him. They make a lot of noise as they crash through the underbrush towards whatever Discord had heard or smelled.

"Spice?" Azerik stops in his tracks and watches as the two dragons yip at each other excitedly. "What are you doing out here? Where's Macklin?" He glances around with furrowed brows.

"Just uh- sword practice. I got bored of the combat classroom." His eyes are narrowed as they scan over Macklin. "I could ask you the same thing though."

"..." His stare wavers slightly. "I just started walking and didn't really realise I was this far out until I turned and couldn't see the towers of the academy anymore." He shakes his head. "But that's besides the point! I'm calling bullshit."

He sighs

"....my aunt's sick. I... I got a letter from my uncle. They don't know what it is... From the way he's describing it... Could be corruption. I'll be back in less than a week"

Macklins boots crunch the leaves beneath his feet as he walks deeper into the woods. He didnt plan ahead, just began walking.

Hes already come across two towns, neither occupied. A few hours ago he believed he saw MrProffesor and hid under a rotten log.

Spice whines

"I know girl, dont worry. We dont have much further"

He doesn't know where "much further" is.

The woods are quiet, leaving him alone with his thoughts as he walks.

They look up. "Do you want to come with me to pick up the paint or wait for me to come back."

Nem nods, concentrating for a few seconds before a swarm of paper cranes sends her soaring up to the ceiling with the navy paint. She stops right before they would hit their head, hovering. "Oof, that's a lot of mana. I think I can do that a few more times, though. Throw me the paintbrush?"

macklin throws one up "impressive stuff, greenbean"

"Thanks!" Nem chirps before immediately starting to coat the entire ceiling. "I want you to do some stuff too! Uh, you're free to design whatever on the walls with the purple, green, and gold, just leave a little gold left."

They catch a drip of paint with a crane. "When I'm done with the ceiling we can throw the paint at each other or something, I'm sure."

They sit back, catching any paint drips and wait for the first coat to dry. "What do you think so far?"

"The fun kind, though!" She wipes off one of her hands and places her capelet on the floor, before dunking her arm into the purple again. "I think it looks better."

"it looks very......you" he settles

She giggles and points towards him. "I'm gonna flick paint at you~"

"dont you dare" macklin glares at her, but theres a spark in his eyes "i will end your life"

"I'll let you go first!"

macklin waits a moment.

Before GRABBING a handful of green paint and chucking it at nem

Nem just laughs, the green splattering against her side and the wall behind her, before throwing some purple paint back.

[macklin-pink]

"HEY! Ah- nem, you look really good in purple" macklin grins, flinging more off his fingertips

[nem-does-things]

"Aww, thank you!" Nem smiles, flicking a bit of gold at Macklin.

[macklin-pink]

"gold cause I'm first place and you're second, loser"

[nem-does-things]

Nem just keeps laughing, sticking her tongue out and throwing some more gold paint.

"mean to me mean to me mean to me!" Macklin laughs

[nem-does-things]

"Aww sorry!" she giggles, throwing a bit of purple. "Here's a gift to make up for it!"

[macklin-pink]

"bullying!!!!!"

[nem-does-things]

A bit of paint hits Nem's cheek, and she just giggles. "You're a great friend!"

Then they stick their tongue out again, flicking some more paint.

"I think you need more friends!" Macklin says, bracing himself as paint splatters his face "if I'm considered "great" by your standards"

[nem-does-things]

"But you're nice, and you don't mind if I'm weird," a bit of paint hits her arm, "and we do fun stuff together like this!"

"I'm not nice" he complains, not throwing anymore "I'm quite mean actually "

[nem-does-things]

Nem also stops throwing and sits down next to him, leaning against his side slightly. "Really?"

[macklin-pink]

"yep. Ask anyone who's met me, I'm the short bastard" he laughs

[nem-does-things]

"Nyeh. That's a boring name." Nem huffs. "I'm gonna keep calling you Firecracker."

[macklin-pink]

"pft, call me whatever you want, greenbean" macklin leans against her aswell

[nem-does-things]

"Okay!" Nem looks at the walls, splattered with paint from their play-fighting. "I like the walls. They look much nicer."

She takes her hand covered in gold paint and sticks it on a blank spot, leaving a handprint.

"whatcha doin?"

[nem-does-things]

"Handprint." Nem offers him some gold paint. "You can do it too!"

[macklin-pink]

"uh...sure"

Macklin sticks his hand in and presses it to the wall "are we even allowed to paint the walls?"

[nem-does-things]

"If someone's allowed to dig secret tunnels and build out a hotspring, I'm allowed to paint my own room." she grumbles.

"Fair enough" macklin nods, turning to paint a streak of gold onto nets nose
