Mythcreants is known for a number of storytelling opinions, and one of those is our strong caution against using multiple points of view. A major reason we hold that position is the vast number of times we’ve seen stories fracture off into a bunch of smaller plots, the narrative spread thin in an attempt to cover too many events at once.
This issue can appear even in stories that don’t have traditional viewpoints, like a story with omniscient narration or a TV show. Speaking of TV shows, we have Fallout, adapted from everyone’s favorite meme about war never changing. The first season was quite fractured already, with screen time split between at least three major storylines. Season two saw that and said, “Hold my Nuka-Cola,” giving us not three, not four, not five, but six threads to follow.
