Starting Thursday the NDC Recreational training group will be practicing once weekly alternating between the Outrigger Performance Advantage-Paddling Training Centre (2918 lake Shore Blvd. W) and the Carleton Village Pool (315 Osler St.) at 7:30PM on Thursday evenings. This crew is largely comprised of paddlers from other teams looking for a solid winter training regimen but a number will be staying on into the summer to form a proper racing crew. During the winter, the overall balance will be largely technical using the paddle pool at Carleton Village and the MultiStroke machines at the OPA-PTC with a small fitness component to round out the training. Once on the water the team will continue with practices once weekly and racing at all of the major regattas. If you're unsure of who you'll be racing with in 2011 come around to a session with the yet unnamed NDC recreational crew and see if it might be right for you. The fees from January through April are $150 and registration is online. Summer fees including racing has been estimated at $350.
