"I just do not see what you see in him." Said flippantly by Cassandra inside the War Room of Skyhold one day, just recently after the people of Haven were led here. From the corner of his eye, he sees Josephine flinch at Cassandra's harsh tone, Leliana's face become a fake mask of professionalism, and Cullen look away embarrassed. Hector's hands rest on top of the table, eyes roving over the maps and items Leliana presented him of his Dalish family. It seems they were in trouble... "I do not trust people from Tevinter. And he's-"
"Well, that's your problem, Cassandra." Hector shrugs when the warrior makes a face, clearly annoyed by the Inquisitor's bored tone, and at being interrupted. "I for one trust the man with my life. In fact, if not for him, I wouldn't have been able to return from the future, and our fight against Corypheus would have been over before it even started." The man pauses, eyes glancing upward as another one of Leliana's crows flies in through an open window, landing gently on his shoulder to rest there. When it does nothing more than starting to play with his hair, Hector turns back to the maps. Behind him, he could hear Cassandra's brain overworking itself to try and come up with something to say.
"I just think-"
"Don't then." Her mouth snaps shut when Hector turns to face her, eyes looking less friendly towards the woman. "I told you I trust him. He's dependable and far kinder than he tries to let off. I'm sick and tired of people thinking he has an ulterior motive. He's here to help. He's here to do what most other people refuse too." Hector advances on her and, to her credit, she holds her ground and does not cower away from the angry mage stalking towards her.
"And I swear to Mythal and Elgar'nan, if I hear ONE MORE person say that bullshit, I'm going to do something everyone BUT me will regret." Cassandra's mouth was shaped in a deep frown at the admission; the tense atmosphere of the room was only broken by Leliana's poor attempt at covering up a laugh.
When Cassandra continues to say nothing, clearly still annoyed, Hector promptly shoos her out of the room. "Now get out. I'm very busy.: Once she's outside, Hector slams the door shut right behind her, effectively ending their conversation.
Though, he clearly didn't see Dorian himself standing right on the other side of that door, his hand still poised to knock.
