 din  normally  didn’t  bother  with  animals,  but  this  creature  was  impossibly  cute.  the  mandalorian  took  a  moment  to  give  the  golden  animal  a  few  good  pets  to  the  head  before  standing  so  she  could  return  to  her  owner.  “she  seems  well  trained,  just  got  curious.”  he  observed.  “is  this  species  easy  to  train?”  he  asked,  now  wanting  one,  but  having  no  idea  what  the  animal  was  even  called.

                 the  reunion  with  his  dog  was  welcomed  ,  and  harvey  was  thankful  to  the  other  for  helping  .  “  oh  ,  sh - she  is  !  um  .  yeah  ,  sometimes  .  some  d - dogs  are  harder  to  train  ,  b - but  bea’s  a  golden  retriever  and  they’re  p - pretty  good  about  it  .  ”  he  took  bea’s  leash  back  in  his  hand  ,  looping  it  twice  around  his  wrist  for  good  measure  .  “  a - a - are  you  interested  in  getting  one  ?  ”

                 sketching  his  surroundings  had  become  a  new  favorite  pastime  for  harvey  .  he  had  mostly  focused  on  monsters  and  landscapes  prior  to  his  death  ,  and  he’d  wanted  to  do  more  with  people  —  he  supposed  he  had  plenty  of  time  for  that  now  .  he  was  lost  in  it  ,  one  earbud  in  and  the  other  dangling  over  his  shoulder  .  he  might  not  have  heard  her  otherwise  .  “  huh  ?  ”  he  set  the  pencil  down  ,  taking  a  quick  survey  of  the  objects  around  him  .  “  um  —  what  does  it  look  like  ?  i  moved  s - some  things  .  ”

her   eyes   had   followed   the   pencil   ,   disregarding   it   once   it   landed   on   the   ground   ,   doe   eyes   lining   themselves   back   up   into   harvey’s   gaze   .   “   ridiculous   ?   what   do   you   even   mean   ?   that’s   what   you   TOLD   me   .   ”   although   the   memory   was   blurry   ,   she   could   hear   the   words   echo   in   her   ear   drums   as   if   she   was   standing   there   again   .   it   had   seemed   unmistakably   clear   then   .   “   you   refused   to   speak   with   me   ,   told   me   to   be   with   nick   .   i   tried   to   reason   with   you   ,   i   tried   everything   but   you   didn’t   even   want   to   give   me   the   chance   .   ”   although   holding   strong   ,   sabrina’s   words   vibrate   ,   her   hands   in   fists   ,   clutching   the   fabric   ends   of   her   sleeves   .   “   you   told   me   you   found   someone   else   ,   that   i   should   too   .   not   that   i   have   –   i   haven’t   even   bothered   looking   but   –   that’s   what   you   SAID   .   ”

For the past few weeks, she’d been doing whatever she could to keep herself busy and keep her mind from running. Her newest way of keeping busy was baking, which lead her to having way more treats than she could ever eat. Packing up some of the cookies she’d made during the night into tupperware boxes, she headed towards where the shops were. After spending a few minutes handing them out, her eyes landed on someone new. “Cookie?” Offering the tub out towards them, she put the most polite smile possible on her face. “I may have made a few… dozen too many.” 

                 harvey  had  just  needed  air  ,  but  he’d  somehow  wound  up  in  the  most  crowded  part  of  the  neighborhood  .  it  was  overwhelming  ,  to  say  the  least  ,  but  he  figured  it  was  good  social  practice  .  his  initial  instinct  was  to  pretend  he  hadn’t  heard  her  ,  but  —  “  um  . . .  y - yeah  ,  sure  .  ”  he  glanced  down  as  he  reached  for  one  .  “  wh - what  kind  are  they  ?  ”

“this  is  amazing!”  eloise  happily  plopped  herself  on  the  fresh  grass  and  kicked  her  legs  up  into  the  air.  “if  i  would  have  known  pants  were  so  freeing  when  i  was  alive  no  societal  standard  in  the  world  could  have  kept  me  out  of  them.  if  only  my  mother  and  sister  could  see  me  now.”

                 the  enthusiasm  brought  a  smile  to  his  face  ,  something  that  shocked  even  himself  .  in  a  way  ,  the  girl  reminded  him  of  violet  .  “  societal  standards  are  irrelevant  .  you  should  do  as  you  please  regardless  .  that’s  what  my  sister  would  say  .  you  would  be  very  popular  with  her  ,  i  can  assure  you  .  ”

                 with  his  back  to  the  window  ,  klaus  had  been  writing  .  for  the  most  part  ,  it  was  nonsense  ,  but  it  was  easier  than  keeping  it  all  in  his  head  .  initially  ,  he’d  thought  he  was  hearing  things  .  tapping  on  his  window  ?  it  very  well  could’ve  been  a  tree  branch  .  but  he  couldn’t  ignore  the  voice  ,  now  could  he  ?  he  jumped  ,  nearly  falling  back  in  his  chair  .  “  my  god  .  ”  hesitantly  ,  he  glanced  over  at  his  window  to  be  met  with  a  face  .  “  what  in  god’s  name  are  you  doing  ?  and  how  can  i  help  you  ?  have  you  considered  knocking  on  the  door  ?  that’s  far  more  polite  .  ”

                    reaching  up  ,  george  began  to  rub  at  his  cheeks  &  chin  ,  praying  that  it  was  an  easy  question  .  he  had  managed  to  make  enough  of  a  fool  of  himself  around  klaus  ,  the  guy  probably  thought  of  him  as  a  joke  .  ‘‘  uh  —  yeah  ,  yeah  i’m  sure  it’ll  come  easily  .  ’’  he  mused  ,  his  twelve  year  old  brain  wanting  him  to  chuckle  from  behind  his  hand  from  his  way  of  answering  .  he’s  mid  breath  when  the  question  comes  ,  causing  him  to  gasp  in  too  much  ,  to  quickly  ,  causing  him  to  begin  coughing  -  face  turning  a  light  shade  of  red  as  he  tries  to  force  the  simple  out  of  his  mouth  .  ‘‘  yeah  —-  yeah  i’d  like  that  .  ’’

                 preparing  oneself  for  a  rejection  was  horrible  for  the  mind  ,  but  in  the  event  that  —  oh  .  klaus  blinked  back  his  surprise  and  stared  in  response  ,  dumbfounded  .  he’d  never  asked  someone  for  a  date  before  ,  and  he’d  never  been  on  a  date  before  .  it  had  never  been  a  subject  he  was  interested  in  ,  so  it  was  one  of  the  few  things  he  was  horribly  prepared  for  .  “  o - oh  ,  good  .  i  wasn’t  sure  if  you’d  —  ”  it  was  rare  that  he  found  himself  tongue  tied  —  that  tended  to  be  george  .  “  do  you  have  a  favorite  meal  ?  for  research  .  ”  literally  .

                 “  it’s  interesting  that  fairies  exist  .  ”  caroline  smiled  .  “  i’ve  met  some  weird  creatures  ,  but  you’re  the  first  fairy  .  ”  vampires  ,  werewolves  ,  doppelgängers  ,  witches  ,  body  hoppers  .  “  nice  to  meet  you  anyway  .  i’m  caroline  .  ”

 there’s  an  utter  lack  of  amusement  in  his  expression  as  he  realizes  how  his  question  has  come  off.  “that’s  not  it,”  he  snaps  ,  but  it  really  doesn’t  matter  anymore  because  the  damage  is  done.  he  can  still  hear  his  father  telling  him  ,  anger  and  defensiveness  are  two  of  the  worst  weaknesses  he  can  show  to  others.  "you  should  know  ,  what  i  did  wasn’t  a  heroic  sacrifice.  it  was  a  mistake.”  what  giuseppe  said  ,  damon  doesn’t  care  because  the  good  place  has  made  it  abundantly  clear  to  him  ,  that  it’s  not  for  him.

                  to  be  fair  ,  she  didn’t  know  what  she’d  expected  .  damon  had  never  been  the  type  to  do  something  kind  of  his  own  free  will  .  sure  ,  if  she’d  been  elena  she  could  understand  .  but  wasn’t  that  how  it  always  went  ?  who  would  bother  helping  caroline  when  elena  gilbert  was  around  ?  she  offered  a  tight  lipped  smile  ,  gaze  drifting  past  him  .  “  yeah  ,  i  figured  .  my  bad  .  is  that  all  ?  if  you  just  came  here  to  be  a  dick  ,  i’m  busy  .  ”

                    a  smile  formed  on  padme’s  lips  as  she  began  to  set  down  the  two  wine  glasses  .  there  weren’t  a  lot  of  things  that  padme  enjoyed  in  the  good  place  -  meaning  nothing  new  ;  white  milk  was  a  disgrace  in  her  mind  ,  but  the  wine  ?  she  definitely  was  thankful  for  that  ,  especially  after  the  past  few  weeks  with  the  passive  aggressiveness  that  was  taking  place  in  her  home  when  anakin  was  around  .  ‘‘  absolutely  ,  almost  all  the  time  -  especially  right  now  .  i  keep  having  this  memory  that  i  could’ve  sworn  ended  differently  ,  but  no  matter  how  hard  i  try  ,  i  can’t  picture  it  differently  .  ’’  she  sighed  ,  pouring  the  wine  into  the  glasses  .

                  the  sound  of  the  liquid  sloshing  around  the  glasses  was  comforting  ,  something  to  focus  on  other  than  her  messy  memory  .  she  didn’t  usually  drink  wine  ,  but  she  attributed  that  to  the  time  she  spent  with  the  bourbon  addicted  salvatore  brothers  .  “  you  ,  too  ?  ”  caroline  glanced  up  ,  finally  ,  eyes  wide  with  confusion  .  “  when  i  turned  seventeen  i  was  . . .  really  upset  .  i  could’ve  sworn  my  friends  came  over  ,  but  . . .  i  don’t  think  they  did  .  it’s  all  fuzzy  .  maybe  it’s  because  i’m  not  seventeen  anymore  ,  or  maybe  i  was  just  . . .  wrong  .  ”

  shoulders  fall  forward,  her  gaze  dropping  down  as  a  frown  settles  onto  her  lips.  jessica  looks  up,  giving  an  understanding  nod.  things  had  been  off  for  almost  everyone  it  seemed.  and  maybe  caroline  was  right.  a  party  wasn’t  the  best  idea  at  the  moment  although  she  knew  it  could  be  a  pretty  good  distraction.  the  vampire  fidgets  in  her  seat  slightly  before  speaking  up  again.  ❝  is  everything  okay  ??  i  know  i  ain’t  the  best  person  to  talk  to  but  if  you  need  to,  i’m  here  for  you.  ❞

                  caroline  liked  jessica  —  she  was  easy  to  talk  to  in  a  way  she  couldn’t  explain  .  she  pushed  her  fingers  through  her  hair  and  grumbled  ,  wanting  to  be  done  with  all  of  it  .  “  i  think  my  brain  is  scrambled  .  like  ,  seriously  scrambled  .  ”  her  head  fell  forward  onto  her  forearms  as  she  sighed  ,  heavy  and  full  of  emotion  .  “  i  don’t  know  how  to  explain  it  ,  but  something  isn’t  right  .  i  feel  like  —  ”  like  she’d  been  compelled  .  “  —  someone  took  or  changed  something  ?  but  . . .  in  my  head  .  ”

she knew that there would most likely be some faces she knew around here.it was next to impossible for the people she knew that left before her not to end up here. yet she hadn’t seen one single familiar face. it broke her heart a little bit. she had expected that someone from her past would be here. she expected that she would have a friend and some familiar feelings around. but no that was not the case. she had to make nice with those around her and more often than not other’s tended to find her know-it-all ways annoying. it wasn’t her fault though she had a photographic memory. she couldn’t help but remember the things she read and saw. it was a fault that served her well but also made it hard for her to make friends, they either envied her for her brain causing them to dislike her or used her for her brain. all in all it should of been a happy place but she felt more lonely here than when meredith wanted nothing to do with her once upon a time. “ it’s amazing how the clouds can form shapes, though it truly shouldn’t be a surprise considering where i am. it’s almost as if it should be expected. ” lexie mumbled to herself as she stared up at a cloud that was oddly shaped like a stethoscope. @selectedhq-starters​

                  lexie  grey  was  both  the  person  he  wanted  to  see  the  most  and  the  least  .  what  happened  to  them  had  been  traumatic  ,  but  she’d  gotten  the  short  end  of  the  stick  .  her  face  had  haunted  mark  in  life  and  death  ,  and  while  he  was  shocked  he  hadn’t  seen  her  yet  ,  he  was  also  relieved  .  their  reunion  ,  while  welcomed  ,  would  bring  to  surface  the  feelings  he’d  had  before  his  death  .  those  last  few  days  had  been  horrible  ,  despite  the  happy  face  he  put  on  for  his  loved  ones  .  they’d  needed  something  good  ,  and  he  could  give  that  to  them  .  and  yet  ,  he  hadn’t  taken  the  time  to  think  about  or  process  his  own  trauma  —  he  hadn’t  been  interested  .  but  now  ,  hearing  her  voice  and  seeing  her  face  ,  mark  was  reminded  of  how  she’d  looked  that  day  .  he  hadn’t  been  strong  enough  —  he’d  found  a  way  to  blame  himself  for  what  happened  .  “  little  grey  ?  ”  his  breath  caught  in  his  throat  ,  something  he  didn’t  think  should  be  possible  in  the  good  place  .  whatever  she’d  said  ,  he  hadn’t  heard  it  ,  and  in  truth  ,  he  didn’t  much  care  .  “  is  this  real  ?  ”  it  somehow  didn’t  feel  real  .

HER  SHOULDERS  SHRUG  NONCHALANTLY  ,  as  if  their  reunion  in  the  afterlife    was  the  most  casual  thing  in  the  world  .  meredith  never  had  been  good  with  sentimentality  .  “  you  know  ,  i  could  ask  you  the  same  .  this  is  the  good  place  ,  after  all  .  ”  she  teases  ,  struggling  to  keep  a  straight  face  as  she  examines  him  closely  .    “  hm  ,  nope  .  definitely  didn’t  miss  you  one  bit  .  ”  her  eyes  narrow  as  she  considers  his  assumption  .  “  you  know  ,  i  thought  so  too  but  it  turns  out  i’m  not  as  invincible  as  we  all  thought    .  guess  i  finally  ran  out  of  luck  .  ”

                   “  hey  ,  ouch  .  i  wasn’t  the  best  but  i  sure  as  hell  don’t  belong  in  the  bad  place  .  ”  he  gasped  ,  dramatically  clutching  at  his  chest  .  “  call  yang  .  i  think  my  heart  is  broken  .  jeez  ,  grey  .  ”  but  he  smiled  ,  eyes  bright  .  he  was  beyond  happy  to  see  her  .  “  aw  ,  yeah  ,  you  did  .  i  can  feel  it  .  ”  but  his  smile  fell  ,  gaze  serious  .  “  it’s  good  to  see  you  ,  but  i’d  hoped  you’d  be  all  wrinkly  when  i  did  .  are  you  okay  ?  ”

                    there’s  a  stifled  laugh  that  comes  from  beck  ,  stopping  her  fingers  from  the  typing  she  was  doing  -  although  not  much  of  what  she  was  writing  was  understandable  .  ‘‘  right  ,  well  ,  guess  i  should  tell  you  that  i  don’t  do  overly  -  confident  men  with  chiseled  jawlines  -  especially  when  they  think  their  jawline  is  the   best  feature  ,  as  if  some  big  cheques  &  a  surgeon  couldn’t  do  a  better  job  .  ’’  she  mused  ,  almost  wanting  to  apologize  for  her  attitude  ,  but  stopping  herself  .  as  if  she  needed  to  apologize  for  anything  -  men  were  the  reason  she  was  here  .  ‘‘  don’t  quite  remember  using  those  words  ,  but  sure  ,  if  you  need  to  flatter  your  ego  yourself  .  prefer  if  you  kept  it  to  less  than  a  thousand  words  &  i  won’t  shove  the  beer  bottle  where  the  sun  doesn’t  shine  .  ’’

                  “  thank  you  ,  but  my  jaw  isn’t  my  best  feature  ,  and  you’re  right  .  i  could  do  a  better  job  .  i  am  the  surgeon  .  i’m  the  only  surgeon  i’d  trust  to  do  anything  to  my  face  ,  actually  .  ”  mark  tilted  his  head  and  offered  yet  another  smile  ,  lopsided  and  far  too  bold  .  “  look  ,  i  just  needed  a  seat  .  i  have  no  intentions  of  ruining  your  work  .  i  hope  whatever  it  is  gets  done  ,  and  i’m  sorry  for  bothering  you  .  ”  he  tilted  his  head  up  to  place  an  order  (  just  water  and  some  fries  )  .  “  seriously  .  but  ,  you  got  it  .  one  thousand  words  or  less  .  that’s  more  generous  than  i  anticipated  .  ”

  ❝  truthfully,  you’re  probably  better  with  the  whiskey  but  only  if  you’re  sharing.  ❞  the  hamby  girl  flashes  a  smiles,  pushing  her  plate  of  foot  to  the  side.  she’d  lost  interest  in  it  completely  the  moment  the  stranger  sat  down.  she  adored  meeting  new  people  -  -  especially  learning  about  who  they  were  before  arriving  in  the  good  place.  his  words  do  cause  a  laugh  to  escape  the  girl’s  lips.  jessica  doesn’t  mean  to  laugh.  it’s  just  if  he  had  any  clue  what  she’d  seen  and  done  during  her  time  as  a  vampire  then  he’d  know  that  stories  about  all  the  gnarly  surgeries  just  wouldn’t  compare.  but  she  waits,  letting  him  have  his  moment  for  a  bit  longer.  ❝  i’ve  got  a  pretty  strong  stomach.  i  think  i  can  handle  it.  ❞  it’s  too  tempting  and  jess  can’t  hold  it  in  any  longer.  ❝  considering  i  was  a  vampire  and  all,  i’m  down  with  the  gory  details.  ❞

                   mark  grinned  and  raised  a  hand  to  call  over  a  waiter  .  “  oh  ,  of  course  .  it’s  the  least  i  can  do  ,  hm  ?  ”  what  followed  shocked  him  ,  face  blank  as  he  attempted  to  process  her  statement  .  a  vampire  ?  he  might’ve  rejected  the  thought  when  he  was  alive  ,  but  the  existence  of  an  afterlife  had  changed  how  he  looked  at  things  .  clearly  he  was  wrong  about  a  lot  of  things  ,  so  who  was  he  to  debate  whether  or  not  vampires  were  real  ?  he  nodded  along  slowly  ,  brows  furrowed  .  “  okay  .  note  to  self  to  go  back  to  that  later  .  ”  he  shook  his  head  .  “  no  ,  no  ,  let’s  talk  about  that  first  .  you  were  a  vampire  ?  ”

the   man’s   name   never   failed   to   stand   out   ,   both   him   and   ponyboy   had   this   effect   .   he   had   at   one   time   despised   it   ,   but   as   he   aged   ,   it   made   him   easier   to   remember   .   “   thank   you   ,   ma   wanted   to   make   things   a   bit   different   .   got   a   brother   named   ponyboy   and   one   named   darrel   .   ”      his   smile   is   endearing   ,   a   certain   fondness   came   when   sodapop   spoke   of   family   .   “   do   both   .   medical   story   last   though   –   i   get   squeamish   .   ”
