Ex was amazing. It was one of the first OITNB fics I remember being totally blown away by, because it was the first to examine Alex’s perspective through a more world-weary, self-aware lens. So good. And I’ve definitely read some of those New Romantics chapters like half a dozen times.
I think both writers just felt like they’d written everything they had to say about those particular characters/stories for the time being! I’m pretty sure they’re both still around and watching the show, just not actively writing atm, which is sorta the case for many of the fandom’s veterans.
