On that day, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) declared a two-month shutdown, possibly longer.

தொழில்நுட்ப கோளாறு ஏற்பட்டதால் மும்பை மோனோ ரெயில் திடீரென நடுவழியில் நின்றது. உயர்மட்ட பாதையில் அந்தரத்தில் நின்ற நிலையில், ரெயிலில் பயணித்த 17 பேர் பெரும் பதற்றத்தில் சிக்கினர். பல நிமிடங்கள் ரெயிலுக்குள் சிக்கித் தவித்த அவர்கள், வெளியுலக தொடர்பும் இன்றி அச்சத்துடன் இருந்தனர்.

தகவல் கிடைத்ததும் ரெயில்வே அதிகாரிகள் மற்றும் மீட்புப்படையினர் விரைந்து சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு சென்று அவசர நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டனர். சிறப்பு உபகரணங்களின் உதவியுடன் பயணிகளை ஒவ்வொருவராக பாதுகாப்பாக வெளியேற்றினர். இச்சம்பவம் பயணிகளிடையே பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியதோடு, மோனோ ரெயில் சேவையின் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்த கேள்விகளையும் எழுப்பியுள்ளது.
