If talking about your brother or about the pain of losing him is something you would like to do or need to do, I am happy to listen. I can't possibly understand your feelings, but I can listen to them. Please don't feel like you must be silent.
thanks moose :) that is the wonderful thing about tumblr, is that I do feel like I can talk about him here and it’s not gonna be a Thing. It’s my everyday life where it tends to be a problem. Like, I mentioned to my boss at one point that one of my brothers had died in a helicopter wreck, and she made this kind of “euh” noise and a yikes-face to go along with it and?? I just... I dunno, I wish people could just accept that this is a part of my life. My oldest brother Josh died in a sudden, tragic, and horrible way, and going through the experience of losing him like that has had a tremendous impact on the person I’ve become. We don’t need to go into details, but it should be okay to mention my brother Josh sometimes and not have to fear the day someone asks “So where is he now?” and I have to give them the unpleasant news. Like, this comes up literally every time someone asks me how many siblings I have, because I have to sit there and think about whether I’m going to tell them three or four. Am I more comfortable denying his existence, or explaining his tragic end to people who may be ill-equipped to deal with tragedy, even in an abstract way? And I just... wish it didn’t have to be that complicated. I wish people didn’t shy away so much. I wish my brother could continue to be a part of my external life, because he will always be a part of who I am.
Like, to other people this is some Tremendously Tragic Event, and I’m not denying that it was tremendously tragic, but it’s also just... something that happened. It’s a part of my life story. I shouldn’t have to hide it behind a curtain just because it’s not a very happy one.
Anyway, sorry for getting sidetracked. Thank you for the offer, I really appreciate it and will keep it in mind :)

cakeandpi said: *hugs* hope things go well!
thank you both :) I am okay (feeling much better now) and I think my niece will be too. It’s just hard not to worry.
mumblemoose said: That sounds super intense. I’d be interested in reading the result though, if you don’t mind sharing.
ugh no, never sharing whatever i finally manage to put down, sorry :\
cakeandpi said: jfc only 50 different words allowed? i’d fail that assignment SO HARD.
yeah and i’m about to :P
thewickling said: The 200 word limit reminds me of double drabbles. Also congrats on figuring it out
yeah... there’s a reason I don’t write drabbles :P

I just looked it up and yeah, you’re right. Thanks, btw -- that gives me an idea of how to tackle this :)
mumblemoose said: I can’t remember what that was from… the guy who weaponized storms? When they used the stick to block his powers? Yeah, I think I actually noticed the stupidity in that one.
yup, that was the one :) ELECTRONS HELP BIND THE UNIVERSE TOGETHER YOU CAN’T JUST DO THAT
cakeandpi said: Taking all the electrons from the atmosphere sounds like an xkcd “what if”. Or a really demented homework question. Even worse than the math questions about the person who buys in bulk but never stops to think about price per unit before getting to the register.
It was supposed to prevent this one guy from controlling the weather, which he apparently did by “accessing the atmosphere’s electric grid.” WHICH DOESN’T MAKE SENSE IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT CHEMISTRY OR PHYSICS
mumblemoose said: I generally figure the “science” is bull but since I’m not a science person it makes about as much sense as real science would and therefore doesn’t bother me.
BUT THE ELECTRONS MOOSE
mumblemoose replied to your post:fuck, you guys, could someone look and let me know...
The tags seem to be fine. As long as people have spoilers blacklisted it should be okay.
Thanks. They're not showing up on my blog for some reason, so I wanted to make sure.
