I just feel like if he knew of his own relationship with the people down there and that someone would likely recognize him, he wouldn't have gone? Or would have made a point to disguise himself? Like "Oh, we don't know what these guys are like, we should disguise ourselves" instead of just walking in all... himself, and being like "Nah, I just have one of those faces." the worst lie ever told lol
not expecting to see someone he knows in a specific place is different from straight up not knowing who he is, though
and the “nah, i just have one of those faces” is an awful lie especially cause he’s pretty distinctive in his appearance - but if he wasn’t expecting to see this tabaxi it makes sense for him to not have a better lie prepared. also.... if he can’t remember anything at all from before a certain point, why would he be so quick to deflect someone who might’ve known him longer than he remembers knowing himself?
from what we’ve seen so far, molly is a liar at least to some extent, but we know that because well... most of them haven’t been all that great. he’s inconsistent. he has people like toya making comments that undermine what he’s saying (and the tabaxi could be another person for this category). fjord’s made some good insight checks. (i mean... he’s shady - that’s why posts like this & this exist lol)
obviously i can’t say whether he’s been lying because he can’t remember everything or if he’s just been doing some questionable things, or hell, a combination of both.... but i don’t trust him at all & as weird as it may sound i think him just not knowing anything is too honest of any explanation, if that makes any sense
