Okay, I’m wondering who here as ever heard of the 2003 Ninja Turtles?

Not the dippy 2012 version. I mean these guys

Also Master Splinter who just wants five minutes to drink his tea in peace

Because these were my bros growing up. My older siblings were total trash to me 80% of the time and my mom didn’t really do much about them, so most of my family values actually came from watching this show in particular plus a couple others. There was a lot of action, humor, and drama, and the graphic novel style was awesome.

I never did see all the episodes due to time slots constantly being bounced around on our cable, but I never fail to love and enjoy the episodes I do have on dvd. Eventually I’d like to have the whole 2003 series.

Also also, Shredder in this series was VERY incredibly brutal and nearly killed the protagonists more than a dozen times and actually did kill off a bunch of other characters

Literally no version of Shredder I’ve seen since has been able to match his utterly horrifying evil prowess. His 10000% “take no shit” policy is what made him a very excellent enemy throughout the series even after his mortal death. The other Shredders can learn something from this guy. (Especially that nitwit from 1987 who was hardly comic relief.)

So it's past 4 am and due to unforseen events we have to babysit my youngest niece and nephew last minute. Pretty much the only thing that stopped my nephew's crying and makes him go to sleep at this ungodly hour is some new age cartoon called "PJ Masks."

It's about these three kids staying up all night to stop "villains" their age from doing whatever jerk-face garbage (which is all surprisingly well-thought-out, ambitious, and mad levels of insane for a bunch of children) and the protagonists each have superpowers based on a cat, an owl, and a chemeleon gecko. Being they stay up all night I can't help but wonder how any of these nerds get sleep.

And it's....oddly entertaining? And kinda cute? Clean and bright colors, sound animation and design, basic "teaching of good morals and values" to kids and "power of friendship" stuff, clean humor, etc. In other words, it's not incredibly insufferable and irritating to watch like most everything else on tv and it's over all aesthetically pleasing.

No wonder it knocks this kid out at night.

And I shamelessly have a couple favorite characters already.

Romeo -an antagonist- (who really is a mad genius scientist who Dexter would be jealous of)

And the Ninjalinos who work for another antagonist by the name of Night Ninja (which I can't find a decent gif of anywhere)

I would take points off for lack of villain name originality, but just look at these little purple dorks. They're too adorable for words. What are these hyper toddlers doing up past their bed time and wasting sleeping hours, I want to hug them.

My favorite anime trope to mock openly because I hear it about 50 times during every season of Yugioh:

Event Update and Info

@jays-fictional-fun / @glamorous-revenge , @subukunojess , @white-fire-the-dragon , @poppycub , @lalotai-mimic

So you all have a heads up, I'm planning on starting the event sometime between the 23rd (Saturday) and the 27th (next Wednesday). Everything should be set up by then.

As for how the event will be run, the currently running threads with Katali and the cubs will be put on hold or we can try to wrap them up before the event gets too far in. If they're put on hold we can always go back and finish them when the event is over.

There will be one collective starter that everyone can reblog from for their individual threads, but after that each thread will be its own part of the plot. Also, let me know which characters you want to participate and if you have any thoughts about what you might want to happen. We can totally toss around ideas until something sticks!

The event will run as long as August 31st if necessary. If any threads are still going by then we can wrap them up as needed, but hopefully everything will be finished on time.

((Okay, so here’s what I’m thinking.

I have an event I want to set up and have play out between around...middle of June/beginning of July and through the end of August. (I’m thinking giving it around two months because of so many things that manage to get in the way on my end and so on).

You’ve probably seen me make posts tagged or titled with “Beginning of the End.” That’s all part of it, but those are more like precursors to what I have in mind. (Feel free to look up the tag and have a read if you haven’t seen those posts yet.)

So my question is, who thinks they want to participate? Because of the way things are going to take place I feel it’s just better to know ahead of time.))
