When did you start writing on Tumblr?

I started my first tumblr in 2012 where I was writing meta and fanfiction. And then in 2014, I started my first rp blog.

7. NOTP for your muse?

Thought more about it. Still family (sorry Cailan), but also adding Loghain to that. Probably Shale. Oghren. I should have thought this through more.

12. Have you any old muses that you’d love to bring back?

I actually miss Pyro? St. John Allerdyce is a complete agent of chaos and everything he says or does is basically about giving himself the maximum amount of fun. It was X-Men: Evolution again so he was a slightly younger version and it was an absolute thrill getting to play that.

18. Are there any AU’s you’d like to explore but haven’t had the chance to yet?

MAFIA. Is this still a thing? Dark/Dark Fantasy. Anything like Mafia but also including supernatural vibes like werewolves/vampires/etc. Gimme that "same core energy but make it ruthless or primal" aesthetic.

😺 - Do you have any pets?

I have one pet! He's a Cavalier King Charlies Spaniel and his name is Charlemagne but we call him Charlie (of course). Let me show him off (he hates letting me work):

🔥- Is there anything you would like to promote?

I should use this to promote my Etsy account. I sell 3D-printed goods but not the typical flexis (for which I'm quite proud). It's hair clips, jewelry, and lately a lot of book supplies like bookmarks and book nooks. But I'd feel really weird about that.

So let me promote instead: I've unprivated my following list for the day and you should all go take a look at it and consider any of these amazing people.

🦕 - What's your favorite dinosaur?

I've had the same favorite dinosaur for at least 30 years. Brachiosaurus. Ask me how mad I am they're so spotty in the Jurassic Park/World movies after the first!

🍿 - What's your favorite movie?

This is going to be wild but my favorite film is the second in a trilogy: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. But here's why: the whole series is one of my favorites from a story perspective but also from a sentimental perspective, and The Two Towers specifically has my favorite scenes! Those being the battle of the Ents at Isengard and the battle at Helm's Deep.

📺 - What's your favorite TV show?

I love a ton of different shows but the one I watch all the way through consistently is The IT Crowd. Close seconds are Parks & Rec and Community.

🕜 - How long have you been Rping for? Did you start on Tumblr?

I've been RPing for over 25 years. I don't even know if Tumblr is that old but technically I was rping a multi-oc story with my best friend on paper (and Microsoft Word?).

✏️ - Why did you choose to write your muse(s)?

I choose muses based on my favorites - they're usually characters for which I really love the personality, and I want to be able to explore that personality beyond what they have in their canon media.

🐶 - What's your favorite animal?

To nobody's surprise, I love doggies. Most canine species, honestly.

✒️ - What sort of hobbies do you have outside of writing?

I crochet! Mostly for myself and close friends but I also make ornaments to sell at markets. Speaking of markets -

🌟 - What was the first fandom you remember Rping for?

X-Men Evolution. I don't have commentary, I'm sticking to the defense that I was also in high school at the time!

😔 - Have you had any bad experiences while Rping?

Finding out I wasn't as liked as people were telling me, and actually was getting talked about behind my back a lot. Dramatic, I know. Almost ruined RP for me and I did end up stepping away from that fandom for good. (see last question haha)

😍 - Do you have a specific character type that you usually find applies to your favorites?

If they're proficient at sarcasm, you can bet I'll be interested. Plus the whole "attractive and probably knows it but humble enough not to use it" as well as "completely wholesome, a cinnamon bun" features really go a long way.

😎 - Why did you choose your mun name? Does it mean something to you?

My current mun name is my actual nickname (Mikki) and usename (MCaptainette) because I'm still a huge Cap fan. It was what I was using when I was streaming as well as keeping a pretty big social media presence. I haven't gotten rid of it entirely because it's still true (though mikkisaurus is slowly taking over)

😏 - What's something you want people to know about you?

I'm super shy, believe it or not. I'm also full of anxiety so I'm actually terrible at socializing - I should say now that if I'm obnoxious about communicating it's because my anxiety about wanting to talk to you is sky high and I'm probably overcorrecting. 🙃 (pls tell me tho).

This also totally means I'm not likely to send memes that advance anything or ask something of others, or reach out first unless I'm having a "be brave" moment.

Salty AF Mun Questions for Munday let's gooooo

♢ Has anyone ever tried to steal your blog? Your headcanons? Icons? All that jazz I feel like I got a lot of ego if I say I feel like people have run away with my headcanons before but I do feel like it's happened. A long time ago. Which meant it also sort of felt like my muse was being copied because they were so intrinsic to me. Or maybe somebody just had the same ideas. shrug shrug Didn't technically affect my rp but it did hurt a little. And I used to pass around graphics so that didn't bother me - and nobody ever took without permission.

☠ Whats someone gotta do for an instant unfollow? Start shit, especially with a friend. That means saying or doing something unnecessarily mean.

Got this twice so another: Finding out you're using me and my canon character to fulfill your personal desires rather than for us both to enjoy interacting together.

✮ Have you managed to stay away from drama? Oh absolutely not. I'm a gossip monger and while I try not to spread it, I have been guilty before. I also tend to be pretty protective. I can admit this.

☢ What fads/trends are you so over? The whole "it's my way or you're wrong." It's ok to keep your blog (and headcanons) strictly how you want, but to insult people with different ideas? It still happens and it's hella uncomfortable. Obviously this isn't across the board - racist/sexist/ableist ideas are never okay, but I mean silly things like "Alistair should be King/Warden or you're stupid." Have experienced!

✖ How has Tumblr RP changed since you started? Aesthetics are completely different now! In the same way that home decor trends come and go, the way blogs and promos and even posts are designed lately is completely different than they used to be. Makes me wonder if I need new graphics… Oh, and people were meaner & clique-ier in general but less picky about facts. We had less to work with, so it was mostly headcanons at the time but that also meant being super protective over them.

☀ What's your rp pet peeve? Not giving others something to work with. RP is not fanfiction - your replies need to be open enough that somebody can continue the thought and not struggle with letting the thread continue.

Got this twice so you gonna get another: for the love of God, please remember both characters are the main character in the scene. Your partner is not your tool.

♒ Thoughts on the fandom you're currently rping in? They're amazing <3. It's been so awesome coming back and everybody being so welcoming and patient with me and Alistair as we've settled back in. I obviously don't feel like I never left, but it's close.

☼ How long do you stay mad? Alistair and I are the same: You can bet we gonna stay mad. This I can also admit!

❥ Has someone ever ruined an FC or character for you? This is mostly from overuse but I have a hard time seeing Jensen Ackles, Tom Hiddleston, or Natalie Dormer as a fc unless it a character they've actually been (and omg I'm so sorry if you use one of these). Oh, and Chris Pratt ruined himself.

❣ How salty are you feeling right now? That's my secret, Cap: I'm always salty.

one: i'm a fairly high-ranked volunteer for a large local convention. in addition to absolutely adoring the work and my fellow volunteers, i have enjoyed many, many privileges including meeting a number of celebrities and high profile nerds.

two: i've technically rp'd professionally? i used to stream rp for a video game (listed below) and received compensation for that. i recommend game rp but it's very, very different from written rp. i miss it terribly.

three: i have a masters in historic preservation. while not currently practicing, i have practiced in the past including group efforts in making official restoration and national register guidance on a number of historic locations.

Oh man give me Space Opera, please. Something like Star Trek or Mass Effect or even like Farscape and you have hit my jam. Or I'd even love Dystopian/Cyberpunk AU's for something similar. Delicious.

So I did say it's not having complete control and I meant it, but I also really love how RP leads you down paths and stories you would have never written on your own? Adventures that stick with you well after the roleplay is done and apparently for years after whenever you think about that particular piece of media or the fandom associated... Merc you know what I mean.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON YOUR CURRENT MUSE (THAT YOU ARE POSTING THIS ON): I just really love him. I wish we’d had more even recognizing that it would have been unreasonable and I have consumed every bit of media regarding Alistair that I can. I just... love his charm and his friendliness and his good heart. Interacting with him always made my day, whichever game it was in.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: He’s so good. And he’s so eager to please and genuine about it, but so awkward about it that it’s a whole new level of charm.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING: Probably a really good plot. Honestly, come screaming to me about scenarios, about something that happens outside of a thread that we’re doing, about what happens late at night when the lights are off and they’re alone with themselves and their thoughts. I LOVE developing a world and having a partner as into a verse as I am keeps me there entirely.

FAVOURITE TYPES OF THREADS: A healthy mix of everything. Where muses can be happy but they can also be serious, where something might go wrong but we’re able to make it right for them through themselves. I just really love a good story told through plot.

BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN REGARDS TO YOUR CURRENT MUSE: Not making him too cliche. Alistair is a lot of jokes and blushy blushy and naive awkwardness but that’s only the surface of him, and especially as time has gone on, he’s developed so much as a person (as a king, as a warden). I want to be able to touch on all of them but still be able to keep that fun flavor that made us fall in love with him in the first place. And I want to do it well, to show others how much he means to me.
