Hi Followers. You probably noticed that I vanished for a whole week with no notice about it.
Letâs say that unexpected things happened and now Iâm bound to my mobile until January 7th. The reason is: my family decided to go on a Holiday Trip without telling me beforehand, so one day I was simply going to sleep, on the other I was being ordered to prepare my luggage. The internet connection here is awful, so this is the only moment I was able to open the tumblr app to post that Iâll be gone for a couple of days.
You can still find me on discord, but my presence there will be limited by my internet connection.
TL;DR: Hiatus until January 7th (or 8th) due to awful internet connection via mobile.
(Halloween is not celebrated in my country, but dressing up for it is common and 100% acceptable. Someone took a photo of me tonight during class.)

I was wearing a fake head and high heels to be taller, so I was a towering No Face measuring 210 cm while standing. I censured my classmatesâ faces because I donât think they want to appear here, did the same with the univerityâs logo on the sleeve of the other guy.
The only problem is that I was melting inside of that costume, it was about 34°C here. Lost the count of how many times people that wanted to take selfies with me said âgosh youâre tallâ and I had to respond âmy head is actually on your shoulderâs heightâ. Lost the count of how many times people asked how I was being able to see a thing behind of this thick fabric (not so thick, to be honest). But at least the teachers loved it.
Now Iâm just shivering out of tiredness.

i'm thinking of writing a touken ranbu character, but all i've seen is the anime. also what kind kf rpc is the fandom anyway because i'm really shy & anxious about entering since i've been in other fandoms that aren't quite so kind...
Okay, fast your safety belt, anon, because it got longer than I was expecting. Iâll answer it from the easiest to the hardest (itâs actually from shorter to longer), so grab a water a bottle and tune up Kaeru Basho in the highest volume you can!
The Fandom:
Tourabu is the most welcoming fandom that I had ever came across. Some months (more than one year, by now) ago I was very, very hesitant to dive into because I was invited by my awesome friend @odigcs even before I watched the Hanamaru anime. Of course I had a good experience and Iâm still amazed (and ultra glad) how this fandom in the rpc is incredibly welcoming. To be honest: I never had a bad time in this fandom.
On âall Iâve seen is the animeâ:
I highly recommend you to look up some anthologies (thereâs plenty of them at mangarock) if you wanna see more of a specific character. On my own experience who started with the Hanamaru anime before actually playing the game, Hanamaru isnât so welcoming to new fans since thereâs almost no explanation about the setting or the characterâs backgrounds (save Okitagumi and Odagumi).
(Iâm assuming you only watched the Hanamaru anime due to being more popular)
The Katsugeki anime is a bit ânewcomers-friendlyâ on the point of explaining the setting and I also enjoyed the characterization. However, is UFOTABLE, so be prepared to fast-pacing story.
Thereâs the musicals and stage plays which I hadnât the opportunity to watch (yet) as many players out there, but people said that they are good to understand the characters more in dept. However, some songs are available and they are awesome.
Playing the game isnât necessary, the official wiki serves so much as a translator that most people that never played the game are able to grasp the idea. (Myself included, playing the game just gave me a new meaning to the word âdespairâ when I almost broke my Taikogane) However, the game currently has much more characters than in the anime, so itâs a good idea to look on the wiki.
Personal Tips:
I myself have no confidence to rp a canon character (in any fandom) because of the varying headcanons and stuff, but I guess that the Tourabu fandom will welcome you with open arms!
I only have ocs, but this is also a valid tip to the ones who play was canon characters: make a research about the swordâs past and their former owners, itâs a huge addition! I had seen some canon players which did their research and their portrayals are uniquely beautiful! After all, Tourabu relies A LOT on history.
And if you are interested in making an oc which isnât a Saniwa (since the saniwa is an human being, itâs easy-peasy-lemon-squezy to make one) Iâm gonna say just one thing: Youâll probably need to jump from site to site do map a swordâs story. Of course, I like to go in depth, but a small research also works. The main problem is when the sword has more than one name (Hizamaruâs sword official name in expositions is Usu Midori) or thereâs two swords with the same name (A wakizashi and a tachi, both called Junkei Samonji).
On the topic of blades which are missing, burnt or broken to the point of being irreparable, thrown at the ocean and melted, some canon characters are under this category. To name a few: Hotarumaru was (possibly) thrown at the ocean, Otegine became a block of melted iron, Horikawa Kunihiro is missing (probably is also in the bottom of the ocean) Yagen Toushirou disappeared during the Honnouji Event, probably burnt completely, Kashuu Kiyomitsu broke and was discarded. So it means that using swords which doesnât exist anymore is completely fine.
A small thing that I wasnât gonna mention, but I decided to:
And because I know that someone will ask me it someday:Â âTouken Ranbu has a exclusively male cast, why do you have female tsukumogami?â Well, Iâm not the only one to have this kind of ocs (usually I see a lot of naginata girls because naginata were used mostly by women) but as you may have noticed: none of my girls are swords. (With the exception of Naomasa and Ibarakinaibou which has pointy parts that can pierce skin.) They are essentially blunt weapons (and with the exception of Ibarakinaibou, concealed weapons).

The quote above is (Kiwame) Houchou Toushirouâs smiting line. I never thought too much about it before, but since it was mentioned: he said specifically âswordâ (ć) but not âweaponâ (æŠćš) as whole⊠And, you guys who follow me for a while might have noticed that I work with the âwhy not?â question a lot.
I had heard about the kanabo that Ibarakinaibou is based on, since it was considerably a âlegendaryâ one I thought:Â âthatâs gonna be a GOOD thing to tryâ. However I didnât added her before Naomasa and Rashinbansaihai because I had NO SOLID INFORMATION about this kanabo before I came across these two war fans. And I must confess, it was A PAIN to get a BIT of information.
I did this, and until now no one seemed to be think itâs a bad idea, also no one sees nothing wrong with sword girls. After all, Houchou specified âmarried womenâ. This last section is just a thing that I wanted to share.

Sweet sweet Naomasa! This girl already fell in love for just meeting someone for a short period of time and kept thinking about him since! She just feel out of it once she discovered he isnât the same anymore. I would say âsomeone will have to be better than that oneâ, but this would be a lie: Naomasa is likely to fall for anyone who shows her that she is useful. I guess she is in love with the concept of being needed and wanted.
Jiseinotanzaku is to a lower degree. Itâs hard to get him out of his shell, but once he is out, he is very likely to get protective and probably will never notice he is love with someone. However, his priority will always be Nakano Takekoâs memory, so a lover who tries to make him forget about her just to stop his grief is likely to be abandoned by him.Â
Kozuke Kunimitsu likes way too much to experience things that his new form allows, he is the epitome of emotional intensity! He does falls easily and falls hard! However with the same amount of difficulty he can fall off.
The others... Oh boy. Isnât easy to get into their hearts.

He have a winner and his name is Hidanokami! What Hidanokami lacks in size, he have in appetite! He is also able to eat quickly and does it on a daily basis!
You can include Amanojakuhime if the pies are melon-flavored pies, after all, he all know what he did with Urikohimeâs original body.

Uraku Kunimtsu. This guy knows how to appreciate good art, but he enjoys the terrible productions because âit takes a lot of knowledge and courage do to such a thingâ and âa movie can only be bad if itâs good enough to be bad!â. The problem is: he takes this to every single aspect of art, much to Ebinaâs deception and it occasionally gives Kokindenju a reason to lock himself up.

Short answer: La Voisin. She actually was imprisoned and executed for her crimes and have no regrets. Ash is currently an outlaw, but by human standards he wouldnât go to the jail. Probably Amanojakuhime if human laws could be applied to him.
But, for minor problems: Machiayakkomono, she has no respect for authorities, and does very stupid and sometimes dangerous actions just to prove her point. Probably would go to jail because of trespassing.

It depends on the situation. If itâs about being a drama queen 24/7, thatâs with no shadow for doubt Konotegashiwa. The best part is that he doesnât even notices it!
However, drama queens over specific situations are Yoshimi, Oborozukiyo and Jiseinotanzaku. Usually it involves their own pasts, but Yoshimi takes the crown because this guy is constantly wanting do to a best entrance the next time he gets to be exposed along with swords that arenât nihontou.
Update (Saturday November 23, 9:48 PM): I was able to finish most of my college projects before they were close to hit their deadlines, but my last day of stress regarding them will be November 29 now because of a new project I had to start yesterday and this one is replacing a written exam.
Possible Short Hiatus Notice, I donât know how my activity will be this week, so if I am absent (even on discord), donât worry, Iâm fine and probably just panicking at my new deadline.
As always, things can change, so this hiatus may or may not happen, but itâs better to let you guys know beforehand in a readable note instead of rushed one where Iâll be probably misplacing and misspelling words.
