I thought I would be less affected by quarantine/self isolation because most my days consist of staying at home with my little one anyways.

The occasional outing to the library, the nearby supermarket, a local cafe to have lunch, going to church, having play dates, going to the community Center for crafts and coffee, all these things helped immensely to keep our routine varied and occupied. Now we have all this time where I have to come up with ways to entertain us.

Sometimes I just don’t want to make lunch and take a break, so she would hop in the stroller and we take a wee walk and share a sandwich with soup at a cafe. This is now a luxury we can’t risk, and I’ve started noticing the wear and tear on my general well-being and ability to be calm and respond intentionally.

And even though I believe I am a type of very distilled and concentrated type of introvert, I actually adore being around people. It makes me nervous and I can only do it in bouts, but being around people really is quite nice. And I miss it.

I’m very grateful that my husband and LO are such wonderful company. At the end of the day, a chat with a cup of tea with him, and looking upon her chubby face asleep, helps me reset for the day tomorrow.

Staying in is hard. It really is. But it’s so worth it. It’s so comforting to know that we’re all in this together.

So today (technically yesterday)  I surprised the twins at school with some Cupcakes , cookies and pizza for their birthday. I can’t believe the big 6 is already here, feels like yesterday they were born. They had so much fun , have to give a major shout-out to their teacher Mrs. Stevens for helping me set all of this up.   I won’t go on & on here  just wanted to hop on with a little update, their party will be this weekend , they are way too excited.  -Bri
