he was running late. damn. usually he sent jett or imogen to pick up maia but this time they couldn’t do it and work ran late, as usual. rushing up the elevator to get to the dance studio, declan ran a hand through his hair. quietly opening the door to see maia with a female figure. clearing his throat, he smiled at his daughter. “hi baby” he said, as the little girl ran to him with open arms. embracing her, he then kissed her forehead. “hello love, i’m declan. it’s nice to meet you.” the male said as he approached the dance teacher with a hand to shake.

Birdie had been silent the whole way back from the airport. Richard, as she was told to call him, tried having conversations with her but she wouldn’t talk back so he just ended up telling her about his son, Cole. She didn’t pay much attention, she was too nervous. Once they pulled up into the driveway of their house, it was so much bigger than Birdie’s old house was. She got out, her purse draping over her shoulder and her pillow hugged tight to her chest. Richard called out for Cole to come get Birdie’s bags, she tried to say it wasn’t necessary, she could do, but he came running out to grab them. She stared at him, he was fucking gorgeous. “H-hi..” Birdie said shyly. munlightbae
