They say True Love hurts-well this could Kill Me.
Konstantin left the cafe not bothering with goodbye to viktor and headed straight to Sergei’s house. The spare key felt heavy in his pocket, he was going to return it to Sergei. Hopefully they’d talk, work things out, maybe have hot make up sex. If he was lucky. He just wanted to talk to sergei, clear everything up. This couldn’t be it, he didn’t want this to be the end for them.
Parking his car in front of Sergei’s apartment he took a few deep breathes before stepping out and heading in. He knocked at the door first, he wasn’t going to barge in. Not unless Sergei wouldn’t let him in. The door opened and slammed in his face before he even had a chance to talk.
“Sergei please, we need to talk. Please, let me in.” Konstantin asked knocking again shifting on his feet. He didn’t want to argue with Sergei outside.
“I don’t have anything to say to you. Other than piss off asshole.” Sergei said through the door, locking it in place.
“Well I have an awful lot to tell you so please open this door Sergei. Please Viktor spoke with me-“
“Then what is there to talk about? I know about your new boyfriend, you’ve got your key. So fucking leave already.” Sergei yelled standing at the other side of the door.
“Sergei Im not dating anyone but you. My friend, well guy I thought was my friend kissed me. I didn’t intend on that, I didn’t ask him over to cheat on you ... I never cheated on you. Please I’d like to talk to you inside about this?” Konstantin asked remaining still to see Sergei’s reaction.
“I saw you kiss him back you fucking liar.” Sergei shot back.
“I kissed him back briefly before shoving him away and kicking him out of my place. I swear to you, please Sergei let me come inside just talk to you. Hear me out, if you’re if you can’t forgive I’ll leave and never bother you again. I swear.” Konstantin added, pulling out the spare key he had of Sergei’s place in case he had to open the door himself. There was a long moment of silence before Sergei pulled the door open.
“Get in and make it quick I have plans tonight.” He said holding the door for Konstantin.
“Thank you ... ah yes ...” Konstantin fumbled over his words trying to figure out where to start. Sergei looked angry as he scrambled to answer, “so I was very torn over our argument. I love you sergei I do, I swear to you. But I don’t think I want kids.” He said softly looking up, Sergei was clearly upset. Now that he had a good look at him, his face red and eyes glassy, looked messy like he had slept. “I never thought kids were an option for me, a gay man so I never thought about if I’d want them or not. So I don’t know for sure ... I know that alone could end our relationship. Because you want kids and I don’t. I don’t want to do anything we’d later regret like with what happened with snezhana. So I asked my friend, Daniel to come over to help weigh pros and cons, my thoughts, ideas ... I was really upset and at first he was just hugging me but then he kissed me and I kissed back before shoving him away. When I asked why he said he’s had feelings for me for years and since you and I were fighting he thought it’d be a good time to tell me.” Konstantin finished taking a few deep breaths. “I never invited him over because I was cheating on you with him. Daniel was just a friend, and certainly not anymore. Sergei I love you, and I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for letting this fight go on, for not talking to you, for letting Daniel kiss me ... I’m so sorry. Please I want to try and make this work.”
“How could I possible make this work when you kissed another man? Don’t think you want children when it is something I want? How can we make that work? I can’t trust you, I apparently cant trust your friends around you. And you don’t even know what you want. This this was not a good idea, this was a waste of both our times and you’ve wasted the last of mine. You need to leave.” Sergei said firmly holding his hand out. “I’d like my spare key back, you’re not welcome here. I understand you and viktor are friends, I wouldn’t ask him to ignore you over something between us.” Konstantin held in his sobs as best as he could as he returned the key.
“If if you ever change your mind ... my house is always open.” Konstantin added placing the spare key to his house into Sergei’s hand before he left. That hadn’t gone the way he expected. He didn’t think Sergei was done, ready to toss everything aside. Maybe it was for the best. It didn’t feel like it, it felt like part of him had been ripped apart and left with Sergei. He got in his car, wiping his tears as they fell.
