What do you like about Derek I genuinely don’t know what people see in him lmao (/nm)

No because I fully understand why some people don't like him or understand what draws people towards him. I think the reason I like him is because of his personality and the potential he has outside of that. He has a lot of potential to be very interesting if you take a look beneath the surface

He is very sadistic, cruel, selfish, every bad thing you can think of, yet he is not as confident as he comes across. He is very dominating over the MC, but the moment they refuse to do as he says, he becomes extremely aggressive (and this ends in them being killed). This tells us he has a very fragile ego which I adoreee in these types of characters. We can see this in the beginning too when he threatens either Komodo or Dragon (I forget which, sorry!) after they tease him. He can be such a manchild and I think I find that very endearing. I also love that he's batshit insane and is willing to go to the extremes just to bring himself some satisfaction.

His behavior in the desert really made me curious about what he may be like outside of that. Remember, he only gets this desert trip once a year, and that trip in itself only lasts for, what? 3-5 days or so? That's such a small percentage of the year. For the rest of the year he is forced to conform to whatever his father wants him go be like. Apparently, he is very well behaved, enough to get him this trip. I do not by any means think he turns into a saint once he leaves the desert, but I don't think the average person will assume he's the devil from the bible just from one or two interactions alone. He's a devil behind closed doors, though!

One of the reasons I created Celeste was because I wanted to figure out 1) what a non 'victim x captor' relationship with him might look like and 2) How he would react in a situation where he cannot just get rid of someone as easily as he is usually able to!

I don't even think this scratches the surface of why I like him so much. I can be terrible with explanations, but I hope this gives you some idea? I know it's a little much. After all, he's just some freak from a horror porn game that sexually assaults and kills you. But I've always liked looking deeper into even the most straightforward of characters. I really enjoy all kinds of interpretations and characterizations :)

Hello! I am doing okay :) how have you all been?

I've been a little busy this week but I'm overall fine. Sorry I've been gone for that time, actually..has it been a long time? Haha, I can't tell! I'm in a dissociative state for a good 70% of the time. Anyway, I'm at work atm. Here's what I've been able to work on:
