He's not looking at the video, but right at you. He's trying to gauge your reaction, what do you think of it? Do you find it scary, or fascinating? Do you find this disgusting...do you find him disgusting? Lawrence has been judged all his life. He knows what it looks like when someone is only pretending to like something of his out of pity. That fake smile that quite never reaches their eyes. Will you do that, too?
If he doesn't feel any judgment from you, that'll be his cue to keep going. Over the next few weeks, he keeps showing you more intense videos. Again, he's slowly pushing boundaries to see if you can "handle" the stuff he likes. If you are only pretending, he will know.
