70 years ago Kermit the frog became the first he/him lesbian on tv. Everyone say thank you, Kermit the Frog.
this isn’t muppets but right now theres a musical out there called Golem Owned A Tropical Smoothie and this puppetry is absolutely hypnotizing to me its crazy. the way that they just use their own hands tied to its arms. Each puppeteer is in charge of two limbs, one controls the head, the other controls the hips. They have to walk a certain way. There’s also just the entire concept of it all but i’m mainly locked onto the puppetry.

i think since sesame street is losing government funding, they might as well have some fun with it. Let Bert and Ernie have a gay wedding that is simultaneously very tacky and also very endearing. Have Bernice and Rubber Ducky be the best men. Let Grover and Elmo do some shit talking. Have a charity fundraiser that’s an Elmo v. Rocco wrestling match. Somehow Elmo will lose. Lots of crazy stuff they could do.
okay okay okay i have a pitch. Little Shop of Horrors: Muppet Version. Maybe the plant is a token human but I am struggling somewhat with the idea of a person eating a muppet so maybe its still a giant plant puppet. Obviously Kermit is Seymour and Miss Piggy is Audrey (Someone somewhere… that’s green). For the Dentist idk why but my first thought was Gonzo, I just think that’d be funny. Rizzo holding onto his leather jacket and being tossed around for his songs. Rizzo Also getting stuck in a laughing gas mask. Uncle Deadly is Mr Mushnik. That’s the only thing that makes sense for me. Then honestly I’m kinda feeling like the girls are the human people.

“Big Spender” is a song from the 1966 musical Sweet Charity, written by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields. The song follows a group of “taxi dancers” (women who were paid to dance with men) who are trying to entice men to buy a dance with them.
In the 1973 tv special, Julie on Sesame Street, Julie Andrews performed the song to a dapperly dressed Cookie Monster (Frank Oz), who then begins to eat all of her accessories.
Normally I just post a link to a YouTube video with the song because that’s easier, but all the available clips of this song aren’t the best quality, so I made a clip from the special that someone uploaded to YouTube. Also delightful special in general.
