Okay but like… hostage taker trying not to catch feelings as they’re stuck in a high intensity situation and angling for a way to get out scot-free? An immense amount of danger from outside forces that they brought on themselves through the doing of a crime, and now there’s this pressure pot with hostage taker and hostage, snapping at one another but both exhausted, increasingly more frustrated as the cops refuse to take the hostage’s safety into account? Stockholm syndrome IS romantic!! Grumpy hostage taker who has enough general respect for their victim to do the little things to make their experience as easy as they can manage, even with the stress of police on their tails??? ROMANCE.
