MORE MURDERBOT.
murderbot kind of a book about being visibly disabled and hiding it
finally reading platform decay (bc roadtrip w mama) and im. mmm. starts biting things.
so, mom and i caught up on murderbot on friday (finally on schedule instead of two days late lol) and we were generally dying of second hand embarrassment (i had to plug my ears and have mom let me know when it was safe genuinely i think i screamed once.)
and anyway dad comes home and sometimes we watch MB together, and me and mom are usually fine rewatching stuff so he comes in and we say 'hey we're catching up on murderbot without you' and he goes 'yall will probably be fine to rewatch it later' (<- paraphrasing whole conversation into two sentances) and me and mom are like NO. NO WE CAN'T. WE'LL DIE. so anyways great show. love it. everyone should watch it.
watching murderbot >:) very excited
that's so fair! that's pretty much why i went rummaging through the show tags before i decided to actually watch it - i was curious about it but didn't know if it was something i wanted to actually bother watching. i think i mostly picked it up because i wanted to see if people were complaining too much and imo - yes, kind of. it's not that the problems folks bring up aren't valid so much as... the WAY people talk about it. see: the misunderstanding i had over the kiss because people were acting like the character MADE OUT with MB against its will, or when i found a post where someone was basically saying the author was a racist pro-capitalist monster because she approved of the casting or whatever. it sure was something.
anyway.
to me it's like. it's fun to watch. it's like the brain equivalent of potato chips. crunchy and fleetingly interesting. but i don't think it's a GOOD show or that it's well written, even aside from it being an adaptation of a far superior book series lol.
as an aside though i'm slowly working my way through network effect (usually when i'm doing tedious tasks like laundry or dishes. i think murderbot would approve) and i'm looking forward to the books after it!
didnt watch episode 3 when it came out last week because im watching with my mom and she was out of state so i watched it + episode 4 today and im so glad because i can only take so many cliffhangers. but also aaaaa i have so many emotions and words are so. aaaaaaaa.
