I've come across more images of the season finale of Murderbot, and my brain started to grid a different theory. Now, for the record, I do hope I'M COMPLETELY WRONG, and the episode surprises me entirely. But, that being said, I've seen these particular shots:
Gurathin is sitting on the cylinder/panel-like on the same room where Murderbot gets refurbished.
You can see them in the right part of the picture/s.
Then we get a shot of this, MB w/helmet on some type of conflict. People running and all like it's a protest somewhere?
The entire PreAux team plotting something. (Like how to get MB back)
And Mensah and Arada really worried about something:
By the angle they're looking at Murderbot. It's the only one that tall.
And then they're worried (including Bharadwaj).
So it's possible that the episode makes a jump in time from the get go and MB gets inevitably separated from the PreAux team, getting refurbished and reset, with no memory of what happened, and at least Gurathin (and would make sense, he worked for the corporation before) gets MB out of the place. After a period of time during which MB was used for normal works as a SecUnit, having no memory of anything. And the team has to deal with the fact now MB doesn't recognize any of them. That's why they look so sad and worried, trying to make it remember.
The good part is, if this is the case, apparently, somehow, in the end it works out.
And, again. If that's what it's going on, then there's a time lap that jumps between the ending of episode 9 and the start of the season finale (Ep10). Airing this next Friday.
It would really make it more interesting that they don't give up on Murderbot. During almost all S01 we mostly see MB not giving up on them and making sure they survive. So it'll be a nice detail to end the season with the dynamic inverted and now is the PreAux team the one trying to keep Murderbot safe and out of the Corporation (like Mensah did years ago for Gurathin).
