Josuke
Josuke invites you over after school one day to play video games
You two play Super Mario Bros 3
Josuke lets you be player one, though you remind him you’re not much of a gamer and have only played this game a handful of times
He smiles “It’s okay, it’s just a game”
You end up beating the game, even beating Josuke’s top score
Josuke insists he’s not mad, he’s glad you beat his high score. REALLY
It was just beginner’s luck after all :)
So you two play again and what luck - you beat your own high score
Josuke’s score didn’t even place into the leader board
He snaps the second player controller in half and makes a loud shrieking sound, almost akin to an annoyed frog
Then he calls you out for being just a “filthy casual” before summoning Crazy Diamond to break the game and erase your high score data
You run home crying
Unable to face a real gamer like Josuke again you never play another video game as long as you live
Okuyasu
When you volunteered to be Okuyasu’s tutor you didn’t know what to expect
He always seemed slightly odd at school and always friendly
It was a little weird that he lived in a seemingly abandoned house, but you didn’t judge him.
While you two sat in his kitchen going over the math homework, Okuyasu somehow related each word problem back to his friend Josuke
When you excuse yourself to use the bathroom, he sighs “Josuke excuses himself for the restroom sometimes.”
A strange comment, but you still carry on and head upstairs to the bathroom.
You forget which door it was and accidentally stumble into Okuyasu’s bedroom.
You quickly try to close the door and go along with your business
Until something catches your eye
Several candles laid out on the floor, surrounding 6 or 7 different pictures of Josuke
In the center was a lock of Josuke’s precious hair
You step into the room to investigate it further and see a second, granted smaller shrine next to it.
With your picture at the center.
Okuyasu appears behind you and smiles. “Don’t worry, I make one for all my friends.”
