Northern Colorado double homicide case
A double homicide case in Northern Colorado involving a musician is about to be showcased on the popular television program "20/20" by ABC. Let's delve into the details of the murder of Scott Sessions.
Sessions, a 53-year-old individual, was last in contact with others on February 8, 2020. On that same evening, Facebook messages and location data from Sessions' cellphone indicated that he had arranged to meet Heather Frank at her residence in Greeley. This information was revealed during subsequent court testimony. Frank and Sessions initially connected at a blues jam concert in Greeley the previous month and further established their connection through Facebook.
In their investigation, authorities discreetly placed tracking devices on Frank's vehicle and her on-again-off-again boyfriend Kevin Eastman's vehicle. Additionally, a covert camera was installed near Frank's home, as it was the last known location of Sessions' cellphone.
By February 16, active warrants were issued for the arrest of Eastman and Frank on charges of first-degree murder in connection with Sessions' case. On that morning, investigators traced Eastman to a property in Weld County where he had previously worked. Later, they located him at a Kersey gas station, where he was apprehended under suspicion of killing Sessions.
During a thorough search of the Weld County property, previously associated with Eastman's employer, a Weld County deputy discovered Frank's lifeless body. The body was concealed beneath a wooden tabletop within a woodpile, approximately 10 yards away from a burn pit. According to court testimony provided by Larimer County Sheriff Sgt. Jamie Smith, Frank had suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest. Her body was wrapped in plastic sheeting and secured with bailing wire.
Eastman faced charges for both murders. Following a three-week trial in Weld County the previous year, he was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of tampering with a deceased human body, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence, as confirmed by the Weld County District Attorney's Office.
As a result, Eastman was sentenced to serve two consecutive life sentences, in addition to an extra 27 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
