Mitch works for a non-profit in Washington, DC but wanted to own his home, so he bought a 300 sq. ft. micro-condo.
When it came to design, it’s a tiny condo, but he didn’t want “tiny” apartment-sized furniture.
The building and kitchen design are very Scandinavian and modern, so he decided to run with that theme as a base. It’s important to him to mix styles, so he added mid century modern, which he is a big fan of.
The small size helps encourage him not to buy things he doesn’t need, while being able to curate his space with nice things he really likes. He likes to call it “tiny luxury.”
This is by far the neatest thing- I’ve seen Murphy beds and sofas that convert to beds, but never one that does both. The bed folds up and there’s the sofa. But, the half white wall that he has art hanging on closes the mattress in. So clever.
His favorite “room” is the 135 sq. ft. rooftop deck.
