Yesterday night i was at a Muse gig, first date in San Siro Stadium (Milan) since 2010, and it was so good i cried and started to lost my voice after around 30 minutes from the start because Matt said "Hi guys" in Italian and it was so unexpected I screamed my heart on that (and there's a lot more djdkdjdj)

So I'm going to have a fandom rant...
...I've seen a lot of comments on social media today about last night's set list in Montreaux. "It's not fair" "You can't play rarities at ONE show in 20 years" "You played too many commercial songs this tour" "This tour was really poor" The band cannot please everyone all the time. The whole point of rarities is that they are rare. They cannot play the same set list every single show and they might not feel like playing the "rare" songs every gig. The whining that is going on infuriates me because it makes the fandom look ungrateful and whiny. To say "we paid good money to see you" - yes you did, but a gig isn't a movie where you have the same experience and content in a uniform manner; to say this tour was poor is incredibly unfair when the band have done over A HUNDRED shows all over the world to reach their fan base - it must be physically and mentally exhausting to be on tour for a year and it is intense. Muse don't cancel shows, turn up stupidly late or leave the stage early, unlike many "artists" these days. What you have paid for is ART; and it isn't going to please everyone - maybe they were just in the mood to play Assassin etc last night. I saw Matt getting whinged at on Twitter - how ungrateful can you be? If you don't want to hear songs from Drones maybe don't go to see them on the Drones tour? They are not going to play songs from Showbiz, Origin etc all the time. Citizen Erased is my favourite live song and I missed it at my London show but I didn't get on social media and whine at the band directly. Social media is a real double edged sword for artists and I cannot imagine how it would feel to create a brilliant show and enjoy it and then have countless people whining at you because they weren't there. Muse are very, very good to their fanbase and they are three adults with lives and partners and children - they are human beings not performing monkeys who will bend to every dipshit trolling about how unfair it is. I've been to nineteen Muse shows over the years and they have never, ever become jaded or stopped making the effort for us. It's up to us as a fanbase to behave accordingly like adults and not accept unwarranted negativity within the community. Be happy they played a great show for the Montreaux fans and that the band are still together and performing with passion. With bigger and bigger shows the concentration of assholes will always be higher, but those people make the fanbase very sour for those in it and I'm sure for the band to a degree. I think this is rant over. Be kind, people. Be kind.
