I was thinking a lil bit about it today. Thailog wound up the way he is because the 'programming' he got was based on Xanatos' own skewed views of morality. But Xanatos isn't a wholly evil person, even as a villain he had some morals and standards. And in the end, he redeemed himself and became an ally to the gargoyles.
So I wondered, could Thailog be redeemed, too? But I decided the answer is way too complicated for any yes or no answer.
Xanatos may have had questionable moral views as an adult, but he had better influences, too. His dad seemed like he had some morals. He had a healthy (for them) relationship with Fox. I think even if neither knew it, Goliath was a good influence on him. And Xanatos was a man with a whole lifetime of experiences, good and bad.
Thailog? Thailog only got the bad influence. He got the teachings that were cherry-picked to give him the worldview that Xanatos, at the time, considered correct. Selfishness, dishonesty, cunning, all that. And even outside of the programming, he only really had Xanatos and Sevarius to look to as an example. By the time he met Goliath he was already twisted enough that seeing a father who was selfless and noble was just annoying. So Thailog really doesn't have much at all in him that's redeemable.
Of course he's also super young, so... Who knows?
