“Where'd you get that?” (heaven's prisoner!Twin to The General) -nowletsplayagame
The angel scowled over at the carny, not needing to ask what he meant. "None of your business, sinner," he snapped. His bruised eye had earned him looks all day because no one expected Heaven's General and nightclub singer extraordinaire to be sporting something as trivial as a black eye.
Michael was telling the truth, of course. Talent did run in the family, and the girl, named Julie, was a very good singer, if untrained. Julie smiled widely and looked to the band. "You guys were really good too!" She told them, she was taught to acknowledge the band. ((I'd like to think that they live in one of those houses that are above the bar, because I think that'd be pretty rad. What do you think?))
Michael grinned as the band thanked her before slowly puttering off stage or leaving to rest up and get ready for the performance later. "See you all tonight!" he called out to them before turning his attention back to Julie.
"D'you wanna go grab some dinner before I got to get ready for the performance? Or d'you want to eat in tonight?" He leaned against the bar, head tilted slightly as he waited for her input.
"I liked it!" Then again, she likes all the songs her dad plays. "Daddy, can I sing here one day too?" She asked, smiling hopefully.
Michael smiled and nodded, sitting her back down on the barstool. "Of course, you can! One day, you'll get dressed in your prettiest dress and you'll get to get up on stage with the band and I and show 'em that talent runs in the family."
**The General - Human Verse** As Michael finishes rehearsing with his band while the store was closed, a sole member of the audience, being the lead's five year old girl, cheers and applauds him. "Yay, Daddy!" She jumped off the barstool and wrapped her arms around him.
Michael laughed and picked her up, whirling her around. "Thank you! Thank you! So, what'd you think? Should we keep that extra number or should we toss it aside? I'm sorta torn on it."
"B-But, I'll never see my family again." She wept, breath hitching. Her family was all that mattered to her, but then she became very ill. In a matter of weeks she was gone, never to see her family again. "Oh, Mr. Angel. I miss them so much." The tears streamed down her pale cheeks as she said those words.
The General reached over, stroking the child's hair gently. "Dry your eyes, little one. Heaven is full of wonders and your family shall join you when it is their time. Busy your mind with other things and I promise that it will feel like no time has passed before they join you."
"Do you even know what you’re doing?"
