It was his fate since he was born that he would become King one day. His parents never ceased to remind him at every chance they had to tell him he would rule the country. Leo Hapsburg was a spunky, cocky and sometimes unruly royal. Never exactly followed the rules and always seemed to cause a scene wherever he went. The world didn’t think he was ready to be King; they brushed him aside knowing he wasn’t serious. Were they wrong? No they weren’t. In fact Leo didn’t want to rule, he wanted to go live his life away from the spotlight. The confined world he lived in was suffocating.
He was fine doing his own thing, until a couple months ago when his parents sat him down telling him that he was getting married. A lot of arguing ensued that night and carried on for the next three weeks until he was forced by the head of the church that he must get married. His fate was sealed and there was no going back now. Since then, it has been girls coming in and out of the palace just waiting for their chance to be the chosen one that gets to marry the most eligible bachelor. Not wanting to hear his parents talk about who he chose, he decided to pick the next girl that walked through the door. She wasn’t exactly his type, but she was someone that made his parents happy and got them off his back.
Everything was moving so fast and seen he had an assistant, which was brand new to him. He was never that important that he had an assistant before. The first thing he noticed was how beautiful she was. Something about the way she walked into a room and presented herself gave him butterflies, which never happened before. Months of mindless flirting at least from his end, turned into something more as he walked down the hallway towards his now office. He stood outside the room, leaned against the doorframe as he waited for her. Seeing her walk by, he smirked a little before letting out a chuckle as he called her name. “Maya..” he whispered gently pulling on her arm and into the room. He looked down at her and smiled before moving a piece of hair out of her face. He had wanted to do this for a while now, not caring that his engagement was going to be announced the next day. Leaning down he pressed a soft kiss on her lips feeling electricity running through his body as his hands rested on her waist.
