Im gonna go with the time he was watching everyone give him a funeral/vigil. He had to watch all of his friends that he had gained after spending so much time alone, say goodbye to him. Even his best friend who turned his first wife and was a total dick but Damon became a brother to Ric. He gad to watch Damon come back to the grave and talk to him and Ric couldnt do anything to help. He was suddenly alone and unable to help like he had become used to. It wasnt even the fact he was dead, it was the fact he could no longer be there for who essentially became his family.

“Elena? What are you doing? It’s 3 in the morning?” He looked more than surprised to see her at his door. “Whats wrong? Everything okay?” He asked, letting her come inside.

@notreallyablackwell Alaric finished teaching his class and glanced at Diana a moment longer, silently telling her to stay. She was the only student that knew about his daddy kink and despite the possible trouble it could bring, he wanted to explore it with her. He waited until the class was empty before looking at her. "I'm sorry I had to cancel on you last night. Something came up but I would like to make it up to you tonight." He said with a hint of a smirk on his lips. "Think you can come over after your last class? I can always write your teachers to give you an extension on your homework." He offered, obviously insinuating that he had planned on her staying the night.

@bloodycursxd Alaric woke up with a groan as he rubbed his head. What the hell happened last night? He sighed as he sat up and the memories came back. Him and Damon finished off bottles of bourbon, no wonder he felt like he got run over. "Fuck." He breathed but automatically reached over and poured himself a glass. "Nothing like the hair of the dog." He muttered to himself before downing it. He looked around for Damon and shook his head when he didn't see him. He pulled out his phone and dialed his number. "I better not be the only feeling like a truck hit me. Where are you anyways?" He couldn't remember when he saw him last during the night. He ran a hand through his hair and pushed himself off the bed to go shower. "And how the fuck did I end up in a hotel room?"
