Small Peace of the Woods||Rorry
Ryousuke traveled often. He liked to tell himself it was so he could learn more about the world, but really he was running. Running from Neo-Phoenix and Mary, running from the people who saved him. Running.
He kept the whittling knife Wanda and Keisuke had given him his first day free. It was a nice one, as far as he could tell. He needed something to sharpen it, still. The young cyborg failed to mention that, but then again he didn’t mention much of anything that day.
The clone and Keisuke traveled together for a bit, but after awhile, Ryousuke slipped away. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the man. Far from it. Keisuke was one of the few people he figured he could connect with, shared DNA or not. Still, he figured it might be better if he could try to make it on his own. See if he could be anything other than what Mary wanted from him. See if he could actually be his own person.
Traveling transformed was faster. He had no vehicle, after all. He did have speed as Corixidae.
If only Ryousuke had a destination in mind to go along with it.
As the sun set one night, the young man found himself in a forest. It was quiet and it didn’t sound as though anyone was around other than the natural forest life. He canceled his transformation, a bright red light emerged from the belt, forming a transparent disc in front of him. The light washed over him, removing the suit as it moved before disappearing into nothingness.
The boy sighed and slumped against a tree. He, at least, wasn’t wearing the uncomfortable clothes Mary forced onto him. Keisuke had given him jeans and a button up to wear instead. He could hide easier that way, at least. But it was nearing night and Ryousuke was growing weary of so much travel in such a short span of time.
With very few people around, however, he felt he could easily rest. Ryousuke lowered himself onto the forest’s floor, propping himself against the tree trunk. He closed his eyes and prayed for a few minutes of sleep.
