The way DC could be one of the most hectic yet peaceful places if you knew where to look. That’s where Daniel had found himself, a quiet coffee shop on a corner where he could sit and watch the people moving about in peace. A cup of coffee in his hands, his cane resting against the seat on the table he currently preoccupied. And everything seemed all right, nothing could bother him in this moment.

Open to: anyone Plot: Daniel needs some relaxing and YM is right there to provide it. Connection: Definitely an ongoing thing, step/family, spouse, gf/bf, fwb, housemate, etc Stress, something Daniel never dealt with well but it was a daily theme at the office. The day felt like it was taking forever, when it was finally time to go home, he was well and truly done. Walking into the lavish home, he hung up his coat. "I'm home!" He called out, the agitation was clear to hear in his tone while he made his way to the sofa where they were sitting. Picking up the remote, he switched the tv on and sat down. "Today was hell, and that's putting it mildly." He grunted, grabbing their hair to pull them down to his groin.

Dani swift tied the tie around her neck, the one she had pinched from his stuff. She was still very much, whatever belonged to other's belonged to her. Since Bela or Cass wasn't around he would have to do.

She very much stayed sat down. She didn't want to play with him just yet and towering over guys either made them very uncomfortable or they made her very comfortable. Guys and some girls were gross like that.

"So do you have to kill X amount of people to look dapper in a suit or is it a skill you are supposed to know?"

Daniel had dealt with this for what felt like forever; Jisung, supposedly his best friend in the entire world beside Seongwu, constantly going off and sleeping with complete strangers. It didn’t bother him at first. But then they saw each other less, and then they talked less, and eventually it only felt that Jisung wanted him around for when he had burnt himself out and actually wanted genuine human contact.

So many talked like they knew Jisung. Like they suddenly knew everything about him because they slept with him once. Suddenly the other party was in love with him and wanted more. It was unfair, if you ask Daniel. He’s pretty sure a few of them wanted real relationships or even more. But he’s sure he’s heard a few just wanting him as their new friend. That was Daniel’s place.

It hurt.

“I’ve seen it. And you lost interest in it. I’m not stupid, hyung. Are you choosing to ignore what I said?”

he knocked once, and then wondered if perhaps he should have called first. what if she's busy? what if she's not even here? but the cell service still isn't acting the best and danny knows that she said she was fine when they were apart, but there's still the part of him that has to check, that has to know, because if he doesn't, he's going to wonder. so he showed up instead.

he feels a little empty handed. he didn't stop to get her anything, no flowers or candy or anything that might be nice to give to the pretty girl you like, but he's already here, so the time to dwell on it is long past. he's almost startled when the door opens, but relieved that when it does, it's lucy there and not her roommate, who he's still not quite sure likes him very much.

"hey, i-- uhm. i probably should have called first to let you know i was coming. if you're busy, i can come back later, but i guess i just wanted to... see you now that i can do that. uhm... hey."

"what's that face for?" perhaps taking a bit too much of a leaf out of their sister's book, danny's been eyeing his brother since he stepped inside, and there's something going on that, while danny can't claim to have an exact name for, he can feel somewhere, deep in his soul. something's going on with jd, and he wouldn't be the big brother that he's supposed to be if he didn't try to get right down to the bottom of it, would he?

for a moment, he simply eyes his brother, tries to see if he can get a read, but his social reads are, at the best of times, lacking, so he gives up after a moment and simply reaches out to pull the other man into a hug that's probably a little too tight to be comfortable, and then lets him go again with a sigh that feels loaded and a little too heavy. "i was worried about you. i'm glad you're okay. did you ever manage to get ahold of mom and dad? i haven't been to see them yet."

breaking and entering doesn't count with siblings, right? he technically has a key, it's not like he's using a hairpin or busting a window. and he tries not to be obtrusive when he shows up like a creep and sits in the dark, waiting. sometimes, he doesn't even see them, it's just nice to know that they're there. because danny is a solitary creature, but one that finds obsessive comfort in his family.

perhaps that's why he's sitting on jasper's couch when his brother appears. sitting in the dark in the quiet of the room, eyes closed but fully conscious, listening to the footsteps as they move into the space before he bothers to say anything.

"hey jazzy." the nickname that daisy gave him. it feels sacrilegious to call him anything else, even when daisy isn't around. "i couldn't sleep, and i kept daisy up three nights in a row already so i felt bad going to her place again. she's very stressed out. she didn't say so out loud, but she is. are you also stressed out? i saw the body of the girl i liked at the funeral home after the hoard attack, but it was actually just her twin sister and that stressed me out a lot." an eye finally opens, casting an eerie blue glow around danny's face. "did you eat today?"

honestly, danny, you didn't do freaky shit with ximena muñoz's body? be honest now.

"what an extremely strange way to insult my professionalism. i didn't handle ximena's body, i was not involved with any of her arrangements, and i don't appreciate the insult to my career or my person. careful, now, the vampire might bite you if he gets too mad."
