Her first match in the Galarian Stars Showcase tournament is up against a Champion! And a Champion of Torren at that! Even as she steps onto the pitch to the roar of the crowd, she can’t believe it. She’s not scared--she’s one of those rare souls who has never been afraid on the field--but she knows she’ll have the fight of her time here in Galar. Some don’t want to admit that some Champions outside the Eight Nations of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Galar are stronger than those found within. But as many people in Unima believe…Better to face Red himself than to face a Hero of regions like Aevium and Torren, whose trials and tribulations ran harder still.
“It’s nice to meet you, Nicole!” she calls out before the battle begins. “It’s an honor to meet an Augur of Torren. I’m just a Gym Leader in my region. I hope I can give you a good match!”
And of course, in typical Feiyun style, she gives no indication that she’s called The Greatest of All Time in Coordinating, that she’s won only golds in every Olympic event she’s ever entered, and that the League she’s part of is the hardest in every world they’ve thus encountered. She certainly gives no indication of the horror that she’s about to send out onto the field. She’s a Gym Leader. Just a modest Gym Leader…but that belies her Champion’s strength.
“All right…Let’s go, Sigila!”
And from her Poké Ball bursts a great serpent of the sea, a Benthic MIlotic from the Abyssian depths. Young but great, a hundred and sixty feet long with pulsing bioluminescent spots along its ocean-dark body, with four long prehensile squid-tentacles trailing from its head and two mouths--one flowering on the tail--that each bare three rows of teeth as tall as Feiyun herself. When it lets out its apocalyptic shriek, spraying corrosive venom all over the ground, the audience’s enthusiastic roars fall silent.
Through it all, Feiyun stays smiling, as though unaware of the fact that half the crowd is shuddering in fear.
“Now…” She means to say show me what you got, but it doesn’t quite come out the way she wants it to. “Show me what you have!”
