We were lucky enough last year to interview Qtopia's curatorial director, George Savoulis, for a wonderful chat about queer shoes, the complexities of sharing queer history in an old police station, and the history of queer Sydney.

WIST - What Is Special Today

I think that's a cool challenge to do. Doing a "what's special today" challenge learning about what's special on a specific day and learning about that thing. That way I'll learn a varieties of things also there will be varities of topics to draw too.

International Museum Day

Every year, on 18 May, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) organises International Museum Day (IMD), a global event highlighting the transformative role of museums in society. In 2026, IMD will explore “Museums Uniting a Divided World”, focusing on how museums can act as bridges across cultural, social, and geopolitical divides, fostering dialogue, understanding, inclusion, and peace within and between communities worldwide.

Mels Jr says, "We had a great adventure today! We went to see the doctor for meds, with a friend from church. We stopped to get some snacks and a soda. Then we went home and watched Yu Yu Hakusho with the Fox 🦊 and Hiei 🐉 who is Atsushi Love💕's favourite. Then we went out for more snacks and now are at the museum with friends."
