My exhibition hangs Sept.7– Dec. 31, 2017... then 2018 travels on to The Ellen Noel Museum of Art in Odessa, TX Feb.– May 2018. 🔹 Did you know: Two state symbols on this painting: 🦋The zebra swallowtail butterfly (Euryotides marcellus) was designated the official state butterfly of Tennessee in 1995. The zebra swallowtail has black and white stripes running the length of its body with red and blue spots on the lower back. 🌸Tennessee Coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis) is one of two Tennessee State wildflowers, designated an official state wildflower in 2012 and found only in the limestone and cedar glades of Middle Tennessee. The tulip poplar grows abundantly throughout Tennessee and pioneers of the state used the tulip poplar to construct houses and farm buildings.
