For the record, raw button mushrooms are for salad and salad only because they're tasteless and crunchy. When you cook them, they release a ton of water which must be cooked off for them to brown and become earthy and delicious otherwise they will be slimy and bland. You have to be actively trying in order to overcook a mushroom.
