the real question is what instruments do the rest of the characters play in musictale??
i have some ideas tell me what u think!
flowey: harmonica
toriel: cello or oboe
napstablook: double bass
papyrus: trumpet (or trombone like sans to keep up the skeleton tradition)
grillby: sax and percussion
undyne: piano obv, but i can also see her on clarinet
monster kid: percussion or voice
alphys: french horn
mettaton: voice ofc
muffet: i can see her playing multiple string instruments at once
asgore: bassoon or tuba (basically the low instruments lol)
asriel: piccolo or harp
chara: violin or viola
gaster: theramin
and... idk what frisk would play lmao
ATOP BCUZ I HAD THIS VERY IDEA FOR A POST. I’ll tell u my thoughts.
Flowey: harmonica is a maybe to me because one part of me thinks he would believe it’s dumb not good enough for his tastes, but.. what else is he gonna play 😭
Toriel: CELLO OR OBOE I LOVE THE WAY YOU THINK. I’m thinking maybe upright bass too, I think she would like to play the violin but wouldn’t want to get such a big one (cuz yk bigger fingers bcuz.. big goat). Oboe toriel.. I love you oboe toriel
Napstablook: I think double bass is fun for him, I also think he would play keyboard for full symphony and some of the smaller percussion parts.
Papyrus: trumpet absolutely, I think he’d dabble in French horn and baritone. I don’t think he’d play woodwind but.. maybe soprano saxophone. I’d have to think about that.
Grillby: saxophone ABSOLUTELY. Tenor sax mainly but he can play on alto just fine, though he doesn’t prefer it. Also yes to percussion.
Undyne: yes piano obviously! Clarinet would be fun for her I believe. Maybe some drums for when she’s feeling a little more intense and loud. I could see her on upright bass too…. But only a little
Monster kid: voice 100% I could see him being a good singer
Alphys: totally French horn. I can see her picking up flute and/or clarinet so she can duet with undyne more often.
Mettaton: YES voice! Though I think he’d know a little electric guitar just for show
Muffet: she’s totally all for string instruments, mostly mains on violin. I see her enjoying the kalimba on the side too.
Asgore: BASSOON ASGORE I LOVE YOU. Also hear me out, bari saxophone. Tuba would be fun for him too.
Asriel: I agree with this one 100%, I think he’d double on piccolo and flute. Simply because a lot of songs don’t have a piccolo part, but he would enjoy the piccolo more.
Chara: VIOLA ALL THE WAY. IDC chara is MADE for viola. She is THE violist that everyone wants in their orchestra. Oh she would love playing solos, not so much duets but definitely quartets. Ugh don’t get me started
Gaster: haha theremin
Frisk: hm.. it depends on how u interpret frisk. I could see them playing higher/high-ish woodwind instruments (flute, clarinet), and xylophone/percussion.
And .. add on….
Sans: trombone yes but I think he would play them all. Bass trombone, alto trombone, contrabass trombone. Though he’d sort of teach himself saxophone for jazz, tenor and alto.
