Decemberists meet fans at Music Millennium
Just wanted to say for anyone who lives in or near Portland, I got an email that the Decemberists will be doing a meet-and-greet at Music Millennium (32nd and E Burnside) on January 19 at 4 pm. No mention of in-store performance, though. (I am not certain if I'm going, myself.)
Thanks for the heads up!

Portland and what I did there (a brief history)
Yo everybody,
It's been a little while since I've updated here. Sorry for the drought, just haven't been motivated I guess.
So work sent me to Portland this week, and yes, I took pictures. Wanna see those pics? I thought so. You said yes right?
So even though I have had most nights off, I just haven't felt like spending the time uploading, writing, blah blah blah when there was so much trashy tv I could watch instead. BUT I guess the powers that be is now giving me no excuses. It's my last day in Portland and I arrive at the airport only to discover my flight has been CANCELLED and I am being put on a later one which makes me stuck here for a good five hours. Yes, that's my entire day. Sooooo, here I am, using the slow internet and updating. Bear with me.
Day 58 - A Radiation City
Today I was asked by a friend I'd made at the PPN! fundraiser, Andrea, if I'd like to join her to see Portland band Radiation City perform at Music Millennium record store. A friend had to be in Seattle that day so passed her VIP tickets to watch the in store next to where the band performed on side of stage. I had only heard a little of radiation city's music so didn't know what to expect. I found the music to be incredibly melodic indie pop with skilled riffs. The band were also of mixed gender which is a common thing in Portland.
At music millennium the band were launching their latest album which is out next week. Because they are off on tour they gave a few copies for Terry Riley to sell at the shop. Terry introduced the band and spoke kindly of there music before they performed a handful of songs to wet customer appetites. They also revealed they would be playing a secret gig at Dig A Pony bar across town.
After their Music Millenium set Andre and I walked then took the bus over to Dig A Pony. The venue is an incredibly hip and trendy bar ont he corner of Grand and Morrison. It is as trendy as RonToms but felt still friendly with the well coifeurred staff being happy to serve and help. The band were playing a set to launch a locally produced soda drink and played to an audience of the it crowd in Portland with faces I'd recognised from other key events.
I managed to get an email address from the band so hopefully I can catch them before they leave to be on tour!
