Monday is an important day
Hey guys! So, to get straight to the point, I have musical auditions on Monday. We’re doing Beauty & the Beast, which happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time. However, I’ve never been in a musical before, so I’m super a little nervous. I’m hoping to be able to record the whole story, so I’m starting now because I’m not sure if I’ll get the chance to write on Monday morning. If I get in, I’ll write updates whenever anything musical-related happens so A.) I’ll be able to look back on what happened B.) So you guys can experience this right along with me & C.) So I can post all the funny behind-the-scenes moments that happen. Welp, I don’t know what else to say here, so....au revoir pour le moment!
I had choreography tonight and one of the girls looks over at me and goes "thank god we don't have to sing during this" because neither of us have the routine down and I was like...oh you sweet child....
I got bored. I made a video. I told ya'll I would.
Plus it was do this, or think about getting tattoos and drawing on myself in sharpie.
Not perfect, still working on that.
So I only just posted this on youtube... I got a ukulele in February with the help of my amazing boyfriend (it was pretty much my Valentine's Day present). It's really gotten me passionate about singing and doing covers again, so I think you'll all be seeing a lot more of these. (Apologies in advance)
This song is first, because I've fallen in love with it over the past couple months, and it's probably was really pushed me to want a uke in the first place.
Making love out of nothing at all
I'm 15. It's Saturday afternoon, I'm babysitting my sister's best friend's son. I remember being on the floor in the living room. And I remember tears.
I can't stop crying. My boyfriend, whom I had broken up with a few weeks earlier because I wanted to see if I had a chance with some other guy, didn't want me back. The other guy didn't want me either. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with me but I don't know what it is and I don't know how to find out. My sister's friend's Air Supply tape plays over and over and over as I cry my heart out.
The baby is just a few months old, so tiny and delicate. He is crying, too. We sit in the centre of the carpet where the sun shines through the window and we hug into each other, rocking back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. I can't figure out what is wrong with him either. He is fed, burped, dry, rested. It's been hours now. I know he's not in crisis, it's as if he just can't stop crying. Like me.
Already so used to hiding my tears, it was comforting to have company for a change. Back and forth, back and forth, on the floor in the middle of the living room, we sat and rocked. We rocked the afternoon away.
