365 Year in Review: May 2012
Of all the people I met during the blog, May was undoubtedly the best month. It was here that I stumbled into a fantastic conversation with Tony Caponi, creator of Caponi Art Park, I got to wander through abandoned houses with my friend Peter of DuAll Services, and I met Stuart Wainstock of Rose City Live, a dude who followed the blog before relocating to Minneapolis from Portland. And, you know, all of these little interactions would eventually lead somewhere--but I'm not ready to tell you that part of the story. Yet.
So while I enjoyed high-fiving people in and around the Twin Cities--I'm lookin' at you Corey Lawson--I also dug throwing down a little opinion as well. Generally I like to keep things a bit PC, but in May, I straightened out some incorrect perceptions of the Basilica Block Party, noted how I actually felt about the Rock the Garden lineup, and (very nicely) threw down over the music I loved.
I also participated in #MusicDiary2012 and learned some interesting things about my music listening habits--or really, lack thereof.
So all told, May was a month of dusting myself off and proclaiming to the world that we were going to make summer 2012 one to remember.
And by all accounts, that's exactly how it went down.
I had a front row date with Jim James. It was pretty awesome.
