April / Is full of whispers, full of sighs,
Edna St. Vincent Millay, from The Collected Poems; āSong Of A Second April,ā (edited)
In regards to the fires happening in religious spaces this week (Notre Dame fire in Paris and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem), now is a good time to remember to practice fire safety on your shrines and altars and during spells or other workings.
Ā Do not leave open flames unattended during ritual and keep flammable items a safe distance from any candles.Ā
Keep your children and pets away from burning herbs or items and make sure that any flames are set in a fire-safe dish (tempered glass or pottery.)Ā
Be aware of any curtains or hanging items that might cause a fire
Know the materials youāre using- some oils and herbs will burn differently than others.Ā

YAAASSS!!!! Sometimes it starts as just staringā¦. but then you get the creeps who will follow you. Be aware of your surroundings and if you see something happening/happen, donāt be afraid to āget in the line of sightā or saying something!
What I really love about this is that it highlights how little it takes to interrupt something like that. The dude didnāt say a word. He just moved. And yeah he made eye contact and shook his head but like. That was it. No fight, no confrontation, just the acknowledgment ofĀ āhey I see what youāre doing and I do not condone it.āĀ
Thatās the message a lot of these predatory types need to be getting: that people are not going to put up with the behavior. That would head off so much gross behavior: just knowing that the other men in the area donāt support you.Ā
This is using privilege. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3Ā

Whatās the different between dark mori and post apocalyptic fashion??? And strega for that matter
Iām not personally familiar with strega fashion, but mori originally came from japan, where the point was to look like an otherworldly forest spiritā hence why itās called āmori,ā which means āforestā in japanese.
Dark mori is a more western take onĀ āgoth-ingā that up, and has resulted in blending more witchy styles with japanese mori silhouettes. I often think of dark mori like fashion banshees and general unseelie type vibes, but the general point is it should feel dark but from the forest or with a ānatureā aura.
Post apoc fashion on the other hand is highly inspired by science fiction, and is essentially a way to fashionize the styles we like from movies. Mad max without spiky armor, star wars tatooine or jakku fashion, etc. Post apoc fash often focuses more on the ādesert wastelandā direction of speculative fiction, and uses sun-protecting layers as well as a lot of dusty colors (charcoals, dusty tans, etc). Iāve also noticed a lot of sedated military greens, and general light inspiration from military utility items to give the clothes a more faux-practical look. Thereās usually a ruined industrial feeling to it
And as a final note, a lot of fashion trends inspire each other, so there will always be a lot of overlap especially in smaller scenes. There are convergent evolutions too, so while styles may have started in different areas or from a different background, sometimes theyāll end up looking similar just because of whatās popular at the time (like currently streetwear is still pretty obsessed with drop-crotch silhouettes, etc)
Strega: dark mori but witchier; tends to be mostly layers in black or dark gray with pagan style/goth jewelry. Strega is an Italian witch, and the style tends to overlap with the many shawls/long skirt looks of mori.
Strega goth looks like a witch that crawled out of the woods to hex you but in reality she just wants you to stop stomping on her huckleberry.
I donāt know how to capture angels. I donāt know how to sing a hymn of joy, but ghostly, at dawn. My heart jumped in the fire - a fit of silent doldrums in my head. And it has been only demons, for so longā¦

The church of Notre-Dame de Paris is still no doubt, a majestic and sublime edifice. But, beautiful as it has been preserved in growing old, it is difficult not to sigh, not to wax indignant, before the numberless degradations and mutilations which time and men have both caused the venerable monument to suffer, without respect for Charlemagne, who laid its first stone, or for Philip Augustus, who laid the last.
On the face of this aged queen of our cathedrals, by the side of a wrinkle, one always finds a scar. Tempus edax, homo edaciorĀ [Time is a devourer; man, more so].
Victor Hugo, Notre-Dame de Paris: Book Third, Chapter I. Notre Dame (trans. Isabel Hapgood) EugĆØne Atget, Notre Dame, Paris, 1926.
